Hace mucho que tenía ganas de leer este libro y puedo decir que finalmente lo terminé (luego de una intensa jornada de lectura). Tuve la oportunidad de irlo leyendo mientras Kramer lo publicaba en un blog privado, pero por X, Y o Z nunca lograba pasar del inicio del capítulo 2, no me daba la cabeza, así que hice un voto: leerlo cuando saliera, así se me fuera la vida en ello. Cuando Judith organizó una Lectura Conjunta me animé sin pensarlo, así que he aquí el resultado: Una reseña entera :)
I've long wanted to read this book and I can say that finally ended (after an intense reading). Lo primero, un libro MUY EXTENSO, PROFUNDO Y GRÁFICO. Voy por partes para no enredarme ni enredarlos a ustedes.
First, a very LARGE, DEEP and GRAPHIC book. I'll go by parts so I won't get entangled or entangle you.
Extenso: El libro tiene más de quinientas páginas. Jamás leí algo tan largo; los que vean mi perfil de Goodreads dirán que no, que es mentira, pero fíjense en las ediciones que me tocaron de los libros extensos: de bolsillo, o de tamaño pequeño, por lo que llevarlas a otro formato las dejaría en trescientas y algo. Este no, este libro en hojas tamaño carta tiene más de quinientas.
Extensive: The book has more than five hundred pages. Profundo: Kramer es muy explicativo en todo, usa muchísimos personajes, sub tramas, y deja que te sumerjas de a ratos en distintos personajes de la historia, sin descuidar nunca que estos nunca cobren más protagonismo que Mía (por algo es la protagonista, ¿no creen?). Pero siempre se dan momentos en la historia donde te deja saber qué es lo que pasa a su alrededor, entender su entorno, te da descripciones cuando realmente lo requiere, algo que pocos autores hacen.
Depth: Kramer's very explanatory in all, use many characters, sub frames, and let you dive at times on different characters in the story, without ever forgetting that they never charge more prominence than Mía (She's the protagonist for something, isn't she?). But there are always moments in the story where he let you know what's happening around her, understand her context, he gives descriptions when you really need, something that just a few authors do.
Gráfico: Aún me río cuando recuerdo que Kramer me dijo "siento que quedó como un cuento de niños". ¿En serio? Te cuento Kramer, escribiste un libro donde unos brujos psicópatas se adornan con los intestinos de humanos y nefilim mientras bailan en Halloween, por citar solo un ejemplo. Hay escenas MUY FUERTES en la trama, llenas de violencia, sangre, cayendo en el gore, y aunque no queda mal, porque es obviamente un libro para adultos, personalmente me impresionó bastante porque nunca había leído algo similar.
Graphic: I still laugh remembering Kramer said "I feel that it's like a children's book." Really? Let me tell you, Kramer, you wrote a book where psycho witches are adorned with the intestines of humans and Nephilim while dancing in Halloween, to cite just one example. There are strong scenes in the plot, full of violence, blood, falling in gore, and although it doesn't look bad, because it's obviously an adult book, it personally impressed me a lot because I'd never read anything like that.
De entre todos los personajes, debo decir que mi favorito no es Caín (un hijo de perra, por cierto), Seth (inútil de primera), Milo (aunque ganó puntos), Elizabeth (Iracunda-imbécil-dolida-despechada) sino Abel. Desde el principio me pareció un personaje muy interesante, atractivo, bien construido, y aunque siento no fue muy aprovechado sino vilmente desplazado para concentrarnos más en Caín, espero que Kramer lo deje hacer gala de sus habilidades en los libros posteriores (sí, es una saga... esperemos que Kenyon se mantenga alejada de la mente de Kramer porque lo mato).

Mía es uno de ellos; no solo ella, sino también muchos personajes que viven en Lichtport como Elizabeth, Jared y Debbie (no sé si Kramer esté de acuerdo conmigo, pero realmente no me hubiera sorprendido leer un suicidio; ahora, si lo leí realmente, no lo diré, tendrán que comprar el libro para saberlo MUAJAJAJAJAJA).

Se me hizo muy gracioso porque sé perfectamente que él odia la saga a muerte y si pudiera no dudaría en comprar los libros para verlos arder en el patio de su casa, pero sí hay muchas partes que se acercan al universo de Meyer, más en la primera mitad del libro, porque en la segunda todo se vuelve una locura.
And last and despite Kramer will kill me, I have to say: I found many similarities with Twilight. De entre todos los personajes, debo decir que mi favorito no es Caín (un hijo de perra, por cierto), Seth (inútil de primera), Milo (aunque ganó puntos), Elizabeth (Iracunda-imbécil-dolida-despechada) sino Abel. Of all the characters, I must say that my favorite is not Cain (son of a bitch, by the way), Seth (useless of first quality), Milo (although he won some points), Elizabeth (angry-jerk-hurt-scorned) but Abel. From the beginning I found him very interesting, attractive, well-built character, and although I feel he was not seized but vilely shifted to focus more on Cain, I hope Kramer let him show off his skills in later books (yes, it's a saga... let's hope Kentyon to stay away from Kramer's mind because I'll kill him).
También hay que decir que hay muchas referencias, los personajes están bien construidos, hay detalles que pude notar eran el fruto de mucho pensar o de investigar. así que es un libro que difícilmente, por no decir que es imposible, te dejará indiferente.
