Do you remember when I said I was changing some things in the blog? Well, I was speaking about the comics' entries, about my Wattpad and my Youtube channel. I realized that I only had Wednesday to speak about what I wanted, so I decided to do this:

Tarot + Strange + Thorn

Since I already write the comic reviews for GAMbIT I decided I would speak about the comics I read on my own on Sundays (forget about Saturdays from now on.) Doctor Strange, Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose, Red Thorn, and many more are the kind of stories that I feel I need to talk about, the ones that really catched my attention.

This doesn't mean I don't care or like the comics I read for GAMbIT, I've discovered some incredible things, Rai and Survivors' Club, for example, but it's not up to me which series I continue to review, and for Making Of, sometimes there's no need to do a review, either the comics are too old or I'm not in the mood to write thousand words about them...So, should we begin? ^^

The first should be "Tarot, Witch of the Black Rose," the comic that started it all. I'm writing a review of the first 10 issues of this story, actually, and just wanted to mention it because, honestly, it has many things I like: Magic, sexy girls, strong characters, originality, good plots, and the drawing is just freaking perfect.

El primero debe ser "Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose", el cómic que comenzó todo. Estoy escribiendo una reseña de los primeros 10 números de esta historia, en realidad, y sólo quería hablar de ella porque, honestamente, tiene muchas cosas que me gustan: magia, chicas sexys, personajes fuertes, originalidad, buenas tramas y el dibujo es jodidamente perfecto.

It's because of Jim Balent's creation that I started reading comics this year and it's always amazing when I read Tarot's adventures. Please, do yourselves a favor, and start reading it!

Doctor Strange (2016) is another comic series I love. The character called my attention in "Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3" and when I saw he had a new ongoing comic I decided to give it a chance (it was impossible not to.)

What those pages had inside was a great story with colorful characters, some I already knew and some that I didn't, a strong script and cool art. It would be another favor if you start reading this series, I mean it!
Lo que esas páginas tenían en el interior era una gran historia con personajes coloridos, algunos que ya conocían y algunos que no, un guión fuerte y buen arte. Sería otro favor si comienzan a leer esta serie, ¡en serio!

And finally, Red Thorn, a kind of comic different of those two. We don't have super heroes, no sexy girls, much more blood in each page (seriously) and the art is a ix between Strange's and Tarot's.
Y, por último, Red Thorn, una especie de cómic diferente de los dos. No tenemos superhéroes, no hay muchachas atractivas, mucha más sangre en cada página (en serio) y el arte es una mezcla entre el de Starnge y el de Tarot.
It's a very dark kind of story, the cover speaks for itself, and despite the pages have bright colors, it's easy to see the real nature of Thorn's world. I'm just gonna say that if I loved how I looked like with my read hair, I'd love it much more the next time I have it!
Es un tipo de historia muy oscura, la cubierta habla por sí mismo, ya pesar de las páginas tienen colores brillantes, es fácil ver la verdadera naturaleza del mundo de la espina. If you ask me, start with Tarot, it's the first obsession that I have in terms of comics and the context in which Balent develops each story is perfect. It's not a single line, but several short stories that give way to others, more characters and more surprises. Heed what I say!

Desde hace tiempo he estado escuchando una banda que me encanta, se ha vuelto mi favorita, una de las que más admiro tanto por su trabajo como la interacción con los fans las brujas y brujos.

Strvngers son un dúo independiente de Canadá cuyo trabajo está en descarga gratis en Bandcamp. Los encontré por casualidad y ahora NO DEJO DE ESCUCHARLOS, así que decidí darles un espacio en mi blog ^^

¿Has sentido alguna vez que encontraste el tipo de música que has estado buscando toda tu vida? Hace poco sentí eso. Siempre me ha gustado la música oscura: pop, rock, metal, electrónica, cualquier cosa con un sonido o letras oscuras, estará en una de mis listas de reproducción, pero quería algo más, algo diferente. Y finalmente lo encontré.

Bandcamp se ha convertido en uno de mis lugares favoritos para descubrir música fresco, y me dio el sonido con el que soñé por muchos años: Strvngers, un dúo canadiense de dark wave / electro-pop. Gente, realmente necesitan escuchar la música de estos tipos; incluso he intentado hacer una crítica al respecto y me fue imposible: ¡Era una pista perfecta después de la otra!

Me considero un fan de ellos a partir de ahora y, como era tan difícil hacer lo primero, cuando vi que estaban teniendo su primer aniversario, decidí optar por la segunda opción: una entrevista.

Aquí es lo que tienen que decir, y después de leerlo, por favor, descarguen su álbum debut y primer cover (¡ambos en descarga gratuita en Bandcamp!) y síganlos en sus redes sociales; todos los enlaces al final de este artículo.

1. ¿Por qué decidieron empezar a hacer música?

MARIA: Kc y yo hemos estado tocando en bandas por los últimos 10 años.

Yo quería hacer una especie de proyecto electro/synth/pop y me acerqué a KC porque había escuchado algunas de sus cosas en solitario años atrás, y realmente lo amé. Era sencillo trabajar con él y él estaba igual de emocionado de trabajar conmigo.

KC: Decidimos hacer música hace casi exactamente un año después de que María se me acercara en línea para hacer un par de instrumentales para él por un EP homónimo en el que estaba trabajando en ese momento. Después de que yo le había enviado dos o tres temas instrumentales vino la transición de nosotros decidiendo que tal vez teníamos algo a partir de lo cual comenzar a construir. Continuamos enviando pistas y demos de un lado a otro alrededor de un mes hasta que nos encontramos por primera vez en la vida real y terminmos nuestras dos pistas "Nostalgia" y "Dressed to kill". Esas dos canciones realmente construyeron las bases de lo que más tarde se convertiría en nuestra marca de sonidos. No hemos dejado de hacer música juntos desde entonces y estamos muy cerca entre nosotros en nuestra vida personal a medida que seguimos construyendo y haciendo crecer nuestro proyecto.

2. ¿Cuáles son sus fuentes de inspiración? ¿Hay alguna banda o cantante que recomendarían?

KC & MARIA: Hombre, esto es una pregunta difícil de contestar para nosotros, jaja. Um, ¿por dónde empezar?

MARIA: Crecí en un hogar hispano (mis padres son de El Salvador), así que escuché un montón de la música española de mis padres cuando niño, música ranchera y cumbia, cosas por el estilo. A medida que fui creciendo realmente gravité hacia música más pesada, bandas como like KoRn, Deftones, Slipknot, Coal Chamber, Brujeria, Puya, ORGY, Tool, entre otros.

Hoy en día, estoy más o menos en cualquier csa en la que pueda vibrar. En cuanto a los cantantes van, de la parte superior de mi cabeza, Florence Welch, Damien Rice, Bjork, Jonathan Davis, Chino Moreno, ¡hay taaaaaaaaaaantos! ¡Echa un vistazo a Cygnets! ¡Son de Alberta también! ¡Y son un grupo darkwave muy radical!

KC: Bueno, siempre he sido un gran fan de los años 80 del pop, synth wave y la música de onda gótica. Bandas como, Pink Turns Blue, The Cure, New Order, The Birthday Massacre y una banda llamada The panic Division, de San Antonio, Texas, son todas muy grandes inspiraciones a mí. Tmo una gan cantidad de notas de las estructuras sintéticas de canciones y melodía y pongo mi propio giro actual en ellos para producir lo que me gusta llamar, “La chispa de KC”. Si tuviera que recomendar alguna banda o cantante en el momento tendría que recomendar el acto “Iamwhoiamwhoami” y el proyecto paralelo de Deftones,  “Crosses”.

3. ¿Cómo se les ocurrió el nombre Strvngers? ¿Por qué cambiar la "A" por una "V"?

MARIA: KC y yo éramos extraños literalmente. Así que fue muy satisfactorio. ¡Hahaha!

KC: Habíamos estado dándole vueltas a los nombres por un tiempo ya que continuábamos escribiendo bajo un título sin nombre. Tuvimos ideas como “Ghost” e incluso “Kurt Hustle” pasaba por nuestras cabezas antes de que un día decidiéramos que "Strangers" era el camino correcto a seguir. Después de todo, éramos muy, prácticamente desconocidos en la vida real. No hasta un tiempo después que nos dimos cuenta de que en realidad había otra banda llamada Strangers así que por razones de derechos de autor cambiamos la 'A' a una 'V'. ¡Fácil de fijar! Tecnicismos jaja.

MARIA: Salió de lo mejor. Me gusta cómo se ve la V. Parece vampiresca para mí.

4. Muchas de sus canciones parecen tener una dualidad, un equilibrio entre el amor, el odio, el sexo y la obsesión. ¿Hay alguna experiencia personal que pueda causar esto o es sólo una cuestión de estilo?

MARIA: Líricamente, para mí, estas canciones son acerca de mis experiencias personales. Mis inseguridades, fetiches, deseos, miedos, ansiedades, roturas del corazón y estar enamorado. Siento que las canciones son muy crudas y honestas con respecto a lo que estaba pasando en ese momento. Y un poco más reveladoras de lo que soy. Pero siento que una gran cantidad de gente se puede identificar, ya que, en su mayor parte, ¡todos pasamos por las relaciones y las relaciones-mierdas! La música es el arte. Y el arte para mí es una liberación terapéutica.

KC: Bueno, personalmente, creo que todo el mundo ha experimentado estas emociones anteriores en algún momento u otro. Sé que yo sí. Los dos estamos muy en contacto con nuestro ser interior y realmente creo que si no fuera por todas las ganancias y pérdidas personales en la vida, nunca habríamos dado a luz a Strvngers. Se trata simplemente de todo el combustible para la máquina del tiempo. Sí, he dicho máquina del tiempo. En un sentido, Strvngers puede ir a cualquier punto y momento, cualquier memoria emocional y tomar lo que se necesita por el bien de la música.

5. Nostalgia fue su primer vídeo y Tension el segundo, ¿por qué decidieron elegirlos?

KC: Creo que Nostalgia se eligió porque fue nuestra primera canción que hicimos juntos y que estábamos proponiendo bastante fuerte desde el principio. Queríamos una canción romántica para realmente traer la atención del mundo exterior a nuestra mente. Algo que la gente pudiera escuchar y con lo que relacionarse. Nostalgia cubre todo eso y algo más.

MARIA: Hicimos Tension porque queríamos poner algo rápido para mostrar a la gente lo divertido que nuestros shows en vivo son. ¡Desafío a cualquiera a salir a un espectáculo de Strvngers y no querer bailar o al menos rebotar su puta cabeza!

6. ¿Qué los hizo decidir hacer un cover de la canción de Cyndi Lauper? ¿Tendremos más covers o fue algo de solo una vez?

MARIA: KC y yo somos hijos de la década de los 80. Me ha gustado esa canción y quería hacer un cover antes de este proyecto y me emocioné cuando KC lo sugirió.

KC: Esto fue un acuerdo mutuo. No somos una banda de covers en ninguna forma o clase pero sentimos que podríamos hacerle justicia a la canción y hacer un tributo a uno de los más grandes íconos del pop de este siglo. ¡También fue jodidamente divertido de tocar en vivo!

MARIA: Pero queremos divertirnos con este proyecto. Así que si sentimos que queremos hacer otro cover de una canción con nuestra vuelta de tuerca, ¡lo haremos!

7. Acaban de tener su primer aniversario, ¿qué significa para ustedes?

KC & MARIA: Significa el mundo para nosotros. ¡Nos despertamos todos los días por los mensajes de personas de todo el mundo que nos dicen que somos su banda favorita! ¡Es una locura! Empezamos este proyecto por puro amor por querer hacer arte/música. ¡No teníamos idea de la gente vibraría tanto! Leemos los mensajes de personas que comparten nuestras canciones y realmente amándolas y conectándose con la letra.

KC: También marca el aniversario de mi amistad con María. ¿Qué puedo decir? Él es uno de los mejores amigos que tengo ahora. Él tiene esta luz de su oscuridad. No sólo ha estado ahí para mí por algunas situaciones personales en mi propia vida, sino que realmente saca lo mejor de mí, mi música y mi vida cotidiana. ¡Todavía escucho nuestro primer disco y gracias a Dios que me uní a una droga de ser humano y un cantante fenomenal! Bendito es la palabra que estoy buscando aquí.

MARIA: Jajajaja, ¡KC es jodidamente radical!

8. ¿Cómo se siente acerca de sus fans? ¿Es todo lo que pensaba que sería?

MARIA: Nunca me ha gustado el término “fan”. ¡Así que nos gusta referirnos a las personas que nos siguen como Witches y Warlocks (Brujas y Brujos)! Y a partir de lo que podemos recoger, ¡parecen muy, muy jodidamente geniales! Y es impresionante que realmente podemos interactuar con ellos debido a los medios de comunicación social. ¡Tanto amor!

KC: ¡Los amo absolutamente a todos! Nos encontramos con que tenemos un grupo demográfico muy interesante de personas que nos siguen. Tenemos comentarios de todo tipo y de todos los ámbitos de la vida. ¡Tuvimos alguien ofertando para trasvestirse y hacer lip sync de nuestra canción Tension y hacer un video de ello! Estamos muy en esta vida y animamos a la gente a hacer lo que tiene ganas de hacer cuando escucha nuestra música, siempre y cuando no sea perjudicial para ellos mismos u otros (por si acaso) jajaja.

9. ¿Cuál ha sido la mejor experiencia que han tenido hasta ahora como dúo?

MARIA: Amo a la gente. A pesar de todos los malditos que he conocido, am o a la gente, o bueno, a la mayoría de la gente ;) Así que para mí es conocer gente genial y conectando con extraños de todas parte con nuestra música. Es un deleite. Trabaja con KC ha sacado realmente un nuevo lado de mí vocalmente, lo cual es genial para mí. Siento que he crecido mucho como vocalista en el poco tiempo que hemos estado juntos.

KC: Para mí han sido las presentaciones en vivo. Ir al escenario con Maria, las luces bajas, nuestros rayos y humos llenando el lugar mientras nuestro intro comienza a sonar de forma ominosa. La vibración llenando la habitación con los aplausos y baile del público… mmm… sej. Aparte de eso, simplemente pasar el tiempo con María durante las sesiones de grabación y comida vegana. ¡Me encanta su compañía y tener ese vínculo realmente nos ayuda a sacar lo mejor de nuestra escritura!

10. Han elegido muchos temas paranormales en sus canciones, estilo e incluso mercancía, ¿alguna vez han tenido una experiencia con fantasmas o algo similar?

KC: Sí, he tenido muchas cosas paranormales en mi vida en las que realmente no puedo entrar en demasiados detalles debido a la longitud de las historias, pero he de decir esto, soy un firme creyente en fantasmas y lo sobrenatural. En todo caso, nos ayuda a escribir las canciones más oscuras. También soy un gran gótico de corazón y estoy absolutamente obsesionado con todo lo relacionado con el horror.

MARIA: Jajajaja, sí, no hagas empezar a KC, ¡ha visto cosas! A ambos nos gusta el género de terror y cosas de esa naturaleza por lo que lo que tendría sentido sería sangrar en nuestra música y mercancía.

11. ¿Hay algún consejo que darían a los que quieren hacer música en el futuro?

KC: Yo diría que lo que necesitan es tratar realmente su proyecto como un bebé recién nacido. Hay que invertir tiempo en que crezca, cuidar de él y mirar por sus mejores intereses. Esto es, si quieren que vaya a alguna parte. Es difícil hacerlo en la industria de la música en estos días. Nosotros mismos todavía estamos en el viaje. No fijen su mirada demasiado lejos, céntrense en cada día y trabajen dentro de sus medios. Lo que se hace en la vida se refleja en sus proyectos. Trátense de manera profesional y estén agradecidos y totalmente invertidos en lo que están haciendo para llegar al siguiente nivel. No van a agotar entradas para espectáculos en vivo o conseguir un contrato de grabación tan pronto como lancen su el EP o álbum. Sean realistas. Traten de crear algo que se destaque, algo diferente del "ahora".

MARIA: Háganlo por el puro amor descarado a ello. Si hay algo que viene de ello en términos de “éxito", muy bien. Si no, no importa. Háganlo por el amor.

12. ¿En qué están trabajando ahora? ¿Cuándo vamos a saber de ustedes otra vez?

KC: No podemos entrar en detalles al respecto en este momento, ¡pero pueden esperar GRANDES NOTICIAS de Strvngers muy pronto! Nos gustaría poder decirles, pero tendrán que esperar. Pero mientras tanto, hemos comenzado a escribir para el próximo disco y actualmente tenemos nuevas pistas en la producción. ¡Así que es una apuesta segura decir que nuestras brujas y brujos estarán disfutando de nuevos Strvngers pronto!

MARIA: ¡Sí, siempre estamos trabajando en nuevas canciones! Que yo sepa tenemos alrededor de 30 canciones con las que estamos jugando desde Sonic Erotica. Nos encanta esta mierda. NOSOTROS. AMAMAMOS. ESTA. MIERDA.

“Keep it Strvnge!” One year with Strvangers.

I've been listening for some time to a band that I love, have become my favorite, one of the I admire the most both for their work as well as their interaction with fans witches and warlocks.

Strvngers are an independent Canadian duo whose work is in free download on Bandcamp. I found them by chance and now I KEEP LISTENING TO THEM, so i decided to give them a space in my blog ^^

Have you ever feel like you found the kind of music you’ve been searching all your life for? I recently felt that. I’ve always liked dark music: Pop, rock, metal, electronic, anything with a dark sound or lyrics, it will be in one of my playlists, but I wanted something else, something different. And I finally found it.

Bandcamp has become one of my favorite places to discover cool music, and it gave me sound I dreamed with for many years: Strvngers, a Canadian dark wave/electro-pop duo. People, you really need to listen to these guys’ music; I even tried to do a critic about it and I found it impossible: It was a perfect track after the other!

I consider myself a fan of them from now on and since it was so difficult to do the first thing, when I saw they were having their one year anniversary, I decided to opt for the second option: an interview.

1. Why did you guys decide to start making music?

MARIA: Kc and I have both been playing in bands for the past 10 years.

I wanted to make an electro/synth/pop sort of project and approached KC because I had heard some of his solo stuff from years ago, and I really really loved it. It was a no brainer to work with him and he was just as excited to work with me.

KC: We decided to make music almost exactly one year ago after Maria had approached me online about doing a couple instrumentals for him for a self-titled E.P. he was working on at the time. After I had sent him two or three instrumentals it transitioned into us deciding that we just might have something here to build from. We continued to send tracks and demo's back and forth for about a month until we met for the first time in real life and tracked our two tracks "Nostalgia" and "Dressed to kill". Those two songs really built the foundation for what later would become our trademark sounds. We haven't stopped making music together since and are very close with each other in our personal lives as we continue to build and grow our project.

2. Which are your inspirations? Is there any band or singer you would recommend?

KC & MARIA: Man, this is a hard question for us to answer, haha. Um, where to start? 

MARIA: I grew up in an hispanic household (my parents are from El Salvador) so I listened to a lot of my parents spanish music as a kid, music ranchera y cumbia, stuff like that. As I got older I really gravitated toward heavier music, bands like KoRn, Deftones, Slipknot, Coal Chamber, Brujeria, Puya, ORGY, Tool, among others. 

Nowadays, I'm into pretty much anythyng that I can vibe to. As far as singers go, off the top of my head, Florence Welch, Damien Rice, Bjork, Jonathan Davis, Chino Moreno, theres sooooo many! Check out Cygnets! They are from Alberta too! And are a really rad darkwave group.

KC: Well, I have always been a huge fan of 80's pop, synth wave and goth wave music. Bands like, Pink Turns Blue, The Cure, New Order, The Birthday Massacre and a band called The panic Division, out of San Antonio, Texas, are all very big inspirations to me. I take a lot of notes from the synth's, structures of songs and melodies and put my own current spin on them to produce what I like to call, The KC Sparkle. If I was to recommend any band or singer at the moment I would have to recommend the act 'Iamwhoiamwhoami' and Deftones' side project,  'Crosses'.

3. How did you come with the name Strvngers? Why change the "A" by a "V"?

MARIA: KC and I were literally strangers. So it was very suiting. Hahaha!

KC: We had been mulling over names for a while as we continued to write under a nameless title. We had ideas like the name 'Ghosts' and even 'Kurt Hustle' crossed our minds before one day deciding that "Strangers" was the right way to go. After all, we were really, pretty much strangers in real life. It wasn't for a while after that that we realized that there is in fact another band named Strangers already so for copyright reasons we changed the 'A' to a 'V'. Easy fix! Technicalities haha.

MARIA: It worked out for the best. I like how the v looks. Looks Vamp-y to me.

4. Many of your songs seem to have a duality, a balance between love, hate, sex and obsession. Is there any personal experience that may cause this or is it just a matter of style?

MARIA: Lyrically, for me, these songs are about my personal experiences. My insecurities, fetishes, desires, fears, anxieties, heart break and being in Love. I feel the songs are very raw and honest with what I was going through at the time. And a little revealing of who I am. But I feel a lot of people can relate because, for the most part, we all go through relationships and relation-shits! Music is art. And art for me is a therapeutic release. 

KC: Well, personally, I think everyone has experienced these above emotions at some point or another. I know I have. We are both very in touch with our inner beings and I truly believe that if it were not for all the personal gains and losses in life, we would have never given birth to Strvngers. It is simply all fuel for the time machine. Yes, I said time machine. In a sense, Strvngers can go to any point and time, any emotional memory and take what is needed for the sake of the music.

5. Nostalgia was your first video and Tension the second one, why did you decide to choose them?

KC: I believe that Nostalgia was chosen because it was our first song that we did together that we were pushing for quite hard from the start. We wanted a romanticized song to really bring the attention of the outside world into our minds. Something that people could listen and relate to. Nostalgia covers all of that and then some.

MARIA: We did Tension because we wanted to put something quick out to show people how fun our live shows are. I dare anyone to come out to a Strvngers show and not wanna dance or at least bob your fuckin' head!

6. What made you decide to do a cover of Cyndi Lauper's song? Should we have more it was one time experience?
MARIA: KC and I are children of the 80's. I've loved that song and wanted to cover it before this project and was thrilled when KC suggested it.

KC: This was a joint agreement. We are not a cover band in any way shape or form but we felt like we could do this song justice and pay tribute to one of the biggest pop icons of this century. It is also hella fun to play live! 

MARIA: But we wanna have fun with this project. So if we feel like covering a song with our twist, we gonna do it!  

7. You just had your one year anniversary, what does that means to you?

KC & MARIA: It means the world to us. We wake up everyday to messages from people from all over the world who tell us we are their favourite band! Which is crazy! We started this project out of pure love for wanting to make art/music. We had no idea people would vibe it so much! We read posts from people sharing our songs and really really loving them and connecting to the lyrics. 

KC: It also marks the anniversary of my friendship with Maria. What can I say, he is one of the closest friends I have now. He has this light about his darkness. Not only has he been there for me through some personal situations in my own life, but he truly brings out the very best in me, my music and my everyday life. I still listen to our first album and thank god that I got teamed up with such a dope human and phenomenal vocalist! Blessed is the word I'm looking for here.

MARIA: Hahahah, KC is fuckin' rad!

8. How do you feel about your fans? Is it all as you thought it would be?

MARIA: I've never liked the term 'fan'. So we like to refer to people who dig us as, 'Witches and Warlocks'! And from what we can gather, they seem really really fuckin' rad! And it's awesome that we can genuinely interact with them because of social media. So much love!

KC: I absolutely LOVE you all! We find that we have a very interesting demographic of people who dig us. We get comments of all kinds and from all walks of life. We had someone offer to dress up in drag and lip synch our song 'Tension' and make a video of it! We are about that life and encourage people to do whatever they feel like doing when listening to our music, as long as it's not harmful to themselves or others (disclaimer) hahaha. 

9. What has been the best experience you have had so far as a duo?

MARIA: I love people. Despite all the assholes I've met, I love people, well, most people ;)  So for me it's meeting rad people and connecting with strangers from all over through our music. It's delightful. Working with KC has really brought out a different side of me vocally, which is very cool for me. I feel I've grown a lot as a vocalist the short time we've been together.

KC: For me it has been the live shows. Getting on stage with Maria, the lights down, our lasers and smoke filling the room as our intro begins to ominously play. The driven beats filling the room as the crowd cheers and dances..mmm...yah. Other than that, just hanging with Maria over recording sessions and vegan food. I absolutely love his company and having that bond really helps us bring out the best in our writing!

10. You've chosen many paranormal topics in your songs, style and even merchandise, have you ever had an experience with ghosts or something similar?

KC: Yes, I have had many paranormal things happen in my life which I really can't get into too much detail about due to the length of the stories, but I will say this, I am a firm believer in ghosts and the supernatural. If anything, It helps us write the darker songs. I am also a huge goth at heart and am absolutely obsessed with anything horror related. 

MARIA: Hahahah, yeah don't get KC started, he's seen thangs! We both love the horror genre and things of that nature so it only makes sense that it would bleed into our music and merch.

11. Is there any advice you would give to those who want to do music in the future?

KC: I would say that you need to really treat your project like a newborn baby. You have to invest the time to grow it, take care of it and look out for its best interests. That is if you want it to go somewhere. It is hard to make it in the music industry these days. We are still on our journey ourselves. Don't set your sights too far ahead, focus on each day and work within your means. What you do in life reflects on your project. Carry yourself in a professional manner and be grateful and fully invested in what you are doing to get you to that next level. You're not going to sell out shows off the start or get a record deal as soon as you release your E.P. or album. Be realistic. Try to create something that stands out, something that is different from the "now".

MARIA: Do it for the pure unabashed Love of it. If anything comes of it in terms of 'success', great. If not, it doesn't matter. Do it for the Love.

12. What are you guys working on now? When are we going to hear from you again?

KC: We can't go into that much detail about this right now but you can expect some BIG NEWS from Strvngers very soon! We wish we could tell you but you'll have to wait. But in the meantime, we have begun writing for the next album and we currently have new tracks in production. So it's a safe bet to say that our Witches and Warlocks will be jamming some new Strvngers soon!

MARIA: Yeah, we are always working on new tracks! Last time I checked we have about 30 songs that we're playing with since Sonic Erotica. We Love this shit. WE. LOVE. THIS. SHIT.

These days I've been resting a little from blogs, and some changes are coming, one of them today, as you may notice.

No, I'm not lazy, this is a whole album I've been listening since yesterday and I can tell you, among all the electronic music I've listened to, this guy has done a great job, something I don't know how to describe, maybe electronic metal.

No, no soy vago, esto es todo un álbum que he estado escuchando desde ayer y puedo decirles, entre toda la música electrónica que he escuchado, este tipo ha hecho un gran trabajo, algo que no sé cómo describir, tal vez metal electrónico.

My first hater! / ¡Mi primera hater!

Hello people! How's it going?
¡Hola gente! ¿Qué tal les va?
Today I got to check my articles on Making Of, one of the magazines where I write in, and guess what? I have my first hater! xD And it was thanks to my critic of Maleficent.

Hoy me dio por revisar mis artículos en Making Of, una de las revistas en donde escribo, ¿y adivinan? ¡Tengo mi primera hater! xD Y fue gracias a mi crítica de Maléfica.

I'm not on cutting or keeping things to myself when I talk about something, though I admit that before, when writing about that movie, I got carried away and let thing go out of hand (already know why), but I insist: That film was a deception and a total disappointment for me, in addition to the advertised as something it was not.
No soy de cortarme o de guardarme las cosas cuando hablo sobre algo, aunque admito que antes, al momento de escribir sobre esa película, me dejé llevar y se me fue la mano (ya sabrán por qué), pero insisto: Esa película fue un engaño y una decepción total para mí, además de que la promocionaban como algo que no era.
I mean, one thing is a retelling, a new version of a already known story like Snow White and the Huntsman, Tangled, Frozen, and several more; something VERY DIFFERENT is to say we will see the same original story but from the perspective of the villain. I think I explain. Maleficent was touted as the second thing, it was why I decided to see it. Had they been sincere I would still have seen it, but the result would have been different when criticizing.

Me explico: una cosa es un recuento, una versión diferente de una historia ya conocida, como Blancanieves y el Cazador, Enredados, Frozen, y varias más; otra cosa MUY DISTINTA es decir que veremos el mismo cuento original pero desde la perspectiva de la villana. Creo que me explico. Malefica fue promocionada como lo segundo hasta decir basta, fue por eso que decidí verla. Si hubieran sido sinceros igual la habría visto, pero el resultado habría sido otro a la hora de criticarla.

I will not justify everything I said in that article, I still think pretty much the same and I prefer to be honest, what I do think is amazing and funny is that she criticizes me without reading me. Fuck logic!
No voy a justificar todo lo que dije en ese artículo, sigo pensando prácticamente lo mismo y prefiero ser honesto, lo que sí me parece increíble y divertido es que me critiquen sin terminar de leerme. Fuck logic!
How the hell do you say you didn't finish reading me because it is a poor review? You have to have them well placed, really xD There are very good things in that movie, scenes that I liked, characters, special effects, among other specific things I cannot remember at the moment.
¿Cómo carajos me dices que no terminaste de leerme porque es una crítica pobre? Hay que tenerlos bien puestos, en serio xD Hay cosas muy buenas en esa película, escenas que me gustaron, personajes, efectos especiales, entre otras cosas puntuales que no recuerdo en el momento.
If I've learned anything is that you can never leave an incomplete reading. You can abandom, but you can never ever talk about it without finishing. That's why I read the Grey series, to give my opinion on it (cheap and BAD literature.) Some might say no, yes, but the only opinions that really count arefrom those who read it.
Si de algo he aprendido es que jamás puedes dejar una lectura incompleta. Se puede abandonar, pero jamás ni nunca puedes hablar de ello sin terminarla. Justo por eso fue que leí los libros de Grey, para poder dar mi opinión al respecto (literatura barata y MALA). Habrá quién diga que no, que sí, pero las únicas opiniones que realmente cuentan son las de aquellos que los leyeron.
The girl who commented, if you get to read this: Let's be logical, if you go to comment or criticize something, do it based. It may be different from my point of view, that I won't discuss it, but if you say the donkey is green, it is because you have hair in hand.

A la chica que me comentó, si es que llega a leer esto: Vamos a ser lógicos, si vas a comentar o criticar algo, hazlo con base. Puede ser diferente a mi punto de vista, eso no te lo discuto, pero si dices que el burro es verde, que sea porque tienes los pelos en la mano.

To the others: Goes the same. Do not criticize something without knowing it well, whether book, whether series is a toxic critique of Maleficent made at the time by a 18 years old dump boy, you have to be finished watching, reading, thinking things through and that's when we can speak properly.
A los demás: Va lo mismo. No critiquemos algo sin conocerlo bien, sea libro, sea serie, sea una crítica tóxica de Maléfica hecha en ese entonces por un pendejo de 18 años, hay terminar de ver, de leer, pensar bien las cosas y allí es que podremos hablar con propiedad.
I hope not to have bored you with this little sermon, but I found it quite ridiculous that particular part of the comment xD

Also, recovering the time and inspiration, I got a new chapter of Perfecta Maldición on Wattpad. I made a slight change to the initial frame to participate in #Visible an initiative that seeks to integrate characters with disabilities and diseases, both physical and mental.

También, recuperando el tiempo libre y la inspiración, subí un nuevo capítulo de Perfecta Maldición en Wattpad. Hice un ligero cambio a la trama inicial para participar en #Visible, una iniciativa que busca integrar personajes con discapacidades y enfermedades, tanto físicas y mentales.

You will soon see who will be the charactr I decided to break the taboo with, so keep reading;) I was a little iffy about whether to use this story to participate in #Visible, but Beatrice encouraged me to do, so we'll see what comes out of here ^^

Superman: Rebirth #1

The first comic review for today is here. This time, I'm talking about the new Superman story-line in DC Rebirth. Hope you like it!
La primera reseña de cómic de hoy está aquí. Esta vez, estoy hablando de la nueva linea de Superman en DC Rebirth. ¡Espero que te guste!

Me siento un poco intimidado haciendo una reseña del primer súper héroe. Superman es un icono cultural; el kryptoniano que salva la tierra una y otra vez. Todavía soy un novato cuando se trata de los cómics de DC, pero, al igual que el Hombre de Acero, voy a darlo todo.
Dicho esto, el personaje de Superman no es una fuerte presencia en este nuevo cómic, en lugar de él, tenemos otra versión del personaje. Un Superman que es misterioso aún sosteniendo una conexión con el pasado. A pesar de que el inicio es un poco lento y desordenado en el establecimiento de esta historia, se pone mucho mejor con cada página leída. A medida que el libro se basa averiguamos lo que ocurrió con el Hombre de Acero y por qué.
En el guión, el drama, la adrenalina y la sensación de peligro constante están presentes desde la primera página. Esta sensación cambia rápidamente a una más pesimista con cierta pesadez real emocional y tristeza. Lana Lang es probablemente la pieza clave en esta nueva historia y su futuro está siendo preparado para algo especial. No obstante, en comparación con los otros cómics que han comenzado esta semana a partir de esta nueva línea, siento como que Superman: Rebirth #1 fue el más lento, con una clara falta de acción. Parece que hay algo mejor por venir después de toda esta preparación, pero no puedo dejar de decir que no estoy un poco decepcionado con esto.
Peter J. Tomasi y Patrick Gleason hicieron un buen trabajo en este caso, sobre todo con la única lucha que se lleva a cabo en este número, pero en general todo el asunto se siente como la primera parte de una nueva serie de televisión. Hay tantas cosas que están tratando de meter aquí para que puedan llegar a la acción cuanto antes y que los fans no se aburran.
Jaime Mendoza, Doug Mahnke y Will Quintan, por el contrario, hicieron un trabajo impresionante con el arte. La coloración es simple pero intensa y las tintas y sombras son perfectas. Todo está muy bien hecho y tiene un aspecto limpio y profesional.
El drama estaba también en su punto cuando llegó el primer panel de doble página. Las pocas escenas de lucha transmiten la dosis correcta de peligro, ¡y una incluso me hizo poner un poco nervioso al leer! Lamentablemente, no puedo decir lo mismo del resto del cómic. Las cosas simplemente se ponen un poco aburridas mientras el libro continúa. La segunda mitad no acaba de preservar la calidad que hemos tenido en el principio, y me molestó MUCHO cuando vi a los tres primeros paneles antes de la escena en Smallville. Vamos, chicos, ¡que estaban haciéndolo a lo grande no hace mucho! Era algo genial para ver y todo estaba en el camino correcto, ¿qué sucedió allí?
La gran pregunta aquí es, y esto es Spoiler, que Superman ha muerto. Bueno, un superhombre, al menos, un Superman pero no obstante. Será interesante ver con qué vienen estas personas desde este punto hacia adelante y cómo el otro Superman encajará bien con todo. No estoy tan emocionado con éste como con otros nuevos cómics en la línea de Rebirth que he leído, pero hay suficiente aquí para decir que hay que mantener el ojo en él mientras se desarrolla.
En general me gustó mucho Superman: Rebirth #1. Es un cómic sólido, pero en realidad no hace nada especial con el personaje; todavía. Se siente como que jugaron muy seguro con su héroe de grandes eventos, y aunque no choca con ciertas expectativas que tenía tampoco no cumplen con algunas de ellas. No es un éxito completo para un nuevo libro de Superman, pero no es un fracaso tampoco. En cambio, es sólo un punto medio que deja un sabor agridulce en la boca.
Es un comienzo incoherente para Superman, pero es lo suficientemente fuerte como para recomendar que peguen los ojos para ver cómo todo se desarrolla.
3,5 de 5 estrellas: Superman ha muerto, ¡larga vida a Superman!
