¡Hola chicos! Viernes de nuevo, y para hoy tengo una canción cuyo mensaje me encanta. ¡No puedo dejar de escucharla!

If You Love Somone, de The Veronicas, es de esas canciones que te animan, te ponen de buen humor y te dan incluso el coraje de declararte a la persona que te gusta, de ir contra viento y marea si con ello podrán estar juntos.

La vibra adolescente,  el ritmo pegajoso y la letra directa, sin tantas metáforas ni pretensiones, la hacen mucho más atractiva. Y del video ni se diga. Es ingenioso y visualmente llamativo. Sonido e imagen están en la misma página, combinando pop con activismo social de una forma que debería verse más a menudo. ¡Me encanta!

Hi guys! Friday again, and for today I have a song which message I love. I cannot stop listening to it!

If You Love Somone, from The Veronicas, is one of those songs that encourage you, put you in a good mood and even give you the courage to declare yourself to the person you like, to go against all odds if you can be together.
The adolescent vibe, the sticky rhythm and the direct lyrics, without so many metaphors or pretensions, make it much more attractive. And the video left me speechless. It is witty and visually striking. Sound and image are on the same page, combining pop with social activism in a way that should be seen more often. I love!

¡Decide qué libro escribiré en mi cumpleaños! / Decide which book I'll write on my Birthday!

¡Buen día, Nocturnos!

Hoy es un lindo día, el segundo más bello del año después de Halloween: ¡Mi cumpleaños! 23 años desde que este cuerpo vino a la vida a enloquecer a todo aquél que pueda. Estuve pensando en una manera para celebrarlo, algo que fuera significativo, y se me ocurrió algo curioso que espero les guste. ^^

Actualmente estoy enfocado en Los Raros de Newrocks, eso es cierto, pero eso no significa que no haya proyectos paralelos que estén avanzando en silencio. Evidentemente necesito enfocarme, pero cada historia tiene su propio encanto. La mecánica es la siguiente:

Hoy en mi Instagram haré cuatro transmisiones en vivo, cada una leyendo el primer capítulo de cada historia. Díganme cuál de las cuatro les llama más la atención y la que reciba más apoyo será la siguiente en la que trabaje. Además, podría llegar a leer algo más que un primer capítulo. Quién sabe. ^^

Para hacer las cosas más sencillas, les dejo un micro resumen de cada libro que, aprovecho para aclarar, es autoconclusivo. Solamente uno tiene relación con otra historia ya publicada, pero no es sencillo darse cuenta.

• M. Fantasía oscura y ficción gótica se mezclan en una historia de abusos y criaturas míticas alrededor de un huérfano desadaptado, temido por el mismo pueblo que lo protege.
• LNdlN. Un retelling LGBT de fantasía en el que dos chicas descubren que su pasado posee más poder del que creen. Una es una bruja del bosque, la otra, una fugitiva.
• RRR. Cinco chicas descubren que sus vidas no son lo que creían, que sus collares guardan un secreto, y un reino fantástico está al borde de la perdición.
• L-BMO. Luego de suicidarse, un chico llega a un inframundo muy distinto al que pensaba, pero sin poder olvidar los errores que cometió en vida.

Good morning, Nighters! Today is a beautiful day, the second most beautiful of the year after Halloween: My birthday! 23 years since this body came to life to drive everyone crazy. I was thinking of a way to celebrate it, something that was significant, and I came up with something curious that I hope you like. ^^ I'm currently focused on Weirdos of Newrocks, that's true, but that doesn't mean there are no parallel projects moving forward in silence. Obviously I need to focus, but each story has its own charm. The mechanics are the following: Today on my Instagram I will do four live broadcasts, each one reading the first chapter of each story (Only in Spanish, sorry.) Tell me which of the four calls your attention the most and the one that receives more support will be the next I'll work on. Also, I may read more than a first chapter. Who knows. ^^ To make things easier, I leave a micro summary of each book that, I take the chance to clarify, is self-contained. Only one is related to another story already published, but it's not easy to know which one.

• M. Dark fantasy and Gothic fiction are mixed in a story of abuses and mythical creatures around a maladjusted orphan, feared by the same people who protect him.
• LNdlN. A LGBT fantasy retelling in which two girls discover that their past possesses more power than they think. One is a witch of the forest, the other, a fugitive.
• RRR. Five girls discover that their lives are not what they believed, that their collars keep a secret, and a fantastic kingdom is on the verge of perdition.
• L-BMO. After committing suicide, a boy arrives to an underworld very different to what he thought, but without being able to forget the mistakes he made in life.

Pensando: ¡Me preocupa mi copyright! / Thinking: I'm worried about my copyright!

Hola chicos, ¿cómo va esta semana?

Hace no mucho, uno o dos meses si mal no recuerdo, una amiga me estaba comentando que ella quería pubicar en internet, subir algunos textos, cuentos, poemas, quizás incluso hacerse un blog, pero le preocupaba el tema de los derechos de autor. Aquí en Venezuela estas regulaciones son muy, muy costosas, y ella no estaba al tanto de otras opciones.

En caso de que este sea el caso de alguno, si alguien se está absteniendo de publicar por no saber qué hacer con respecto al tema del copyright, no se preocupen. Hay dos opciones muy confiables y conocidas que sirven como segundas alternativas sin mucho problema, ¡además de que son gratuitas!

• Una página que uso mucho es Creative Commons, la cual permite escoger y personalizar incluso el tipo de licencia que quieren tener para sus trabajos, y es justamente la que utilizo yo para mi blog y mis libros. Personalmente me parece perfecta para webs y blogs.
• Otra opción buenísima que tienen es Safe Creative, que sirve para cualquier clase de material: escritos, periodísticos, audiovisuales, musicales, artísticos, o lo que sea que se les ocurra. Es muy variada en cuanto a las opciones de registro y ofrece un código único para cada elemento que registren. Esta la uso junto con CC para mis libros.

Ya para finalizar, puedo mencionarles que Amazon específicamente crea códigos automáticos para el copyright de los libros cuando estos son publicados: un ASIN para los libros en Kindle y dos ISBN para los físicos. No aplica para webs, evidentemente, pero al menos en cuanto a libros me parece bastante bien.

Estoy seguro de que deben de haber algunas más, pero estas dos son las que conozco y a decir la verdad me parecen más que suficiente tenerlas a la mano. ¿Qué piensan ustedes? ¿Se animarían a probarlas? ¡Estaré esperando sus comentarios!

Hi guys, how are you doing this week?

Not long ago, one or two months if I remember correctly, a friend was telling me she wanted to publish on the internet, upload some texts, stories, poems, maybe even make a blog, but was concerned about the issue of copyright. Here in Venezuela these regulations are very, very expensive, and she wasn't aware of other options.

In case this is the case of some, if someone is refraining from publishing because they don't know what to do about the subject of copyright, don't worry. There are two very reliable and known options that serve as second alternatives without much problem, plus they are free!

• A page I use a lot is Creative Commons, which allows you to choose and personalize even the type of license you want to have for your work, and that is exactly what I use for my blog and my books. Personally I think it's perfect for websites and blogs.
• Another great option you have is Safe Creative, which is useful for any kind of material: written, journalistic, audiovisual, musical, artistic, or whatever it is that occurs to you. It's very varied in terms of registration options and offers a unique code for each item you register. I use it together with CC for my books.

To finish, I can mention that Amazon specifically creates automatic codes for the copyright of books when they are published: an ASIN for books on Kindle and two ISBN for print. It doesn't apply to websites, obviously, but at least in terms of books it seems pretty good.

I'm sure there must be some more, but these two are the ones I know and to tell the truth it seems more than enough to have them at hand. What do you think? Would you be encouraged to try them? I'll be waiting for your comments!

Viernes Musicales / Musical Friday: Untouched (The Veronicas)

Hola gente. ^^ Esta vez sí lo puedo decir como se debe: ¡Feliz viernes!

Hoy me dio por ponerme nostálgico y compartir una canción que me trae muy buenos recuerdos cada vez que la escucho: Untouched, de The Veronicas. Viene de ese tiempo hermoso cuando MTV no pasaba pura basura.

Este tema me hace recordar mi adolescencia, o las partes buenas al menos, y es tan pegajosa que cada vez que la escucho se me queda en repetición constante en la cabeza. Untouched es de esos temas de los que no te cansas de escucharlos.

Además, la estética del video me encanta. A finales de la década del 2000 los videos oscuros o de estilo gótico eran demasiado populares, y extraño muchísimo esos tiempos. Me gustaban casi todos, y este de The Veronicas estaba entre mis favoritos.

¿Qué piensan ustedes al respecto? ¿Untouched también les trae buenos recuerdos como a mí? ¿Disfrutaron los últimos años antes de esta década? ¡Estaré esperando sus comentarios! Nos vemos el lunes. ^^

Hello people. ^^ This time I can say it as it should be: Happy Friday!

Today I decided to get nostalgic and share a song that brings back great memories every time I listen to it: Untouched, by The Veronicas. It comes from that beautiful time when MTV didn't stream pure garbage.
This track reminds me of my adolescence, or the good parts, at least, and it's so sticky every time I listen to it, it keeps repeating itself in my head. Untouched is one of those songs that you don't get tired of listening to.
Also, I'm in love with the video's aesthetics. At the end of the 2000s, dark or Gothic videos were too popular, and I miss those times very much. I liked almost everyone, and this one from The Veronicas was among my favorites.

(Casi) Renunciando al Periodismo / (Almost) Quiting on Journalist

Hola chicos, ¿cómo los va tratando la semana? Esta está siendo ruda conmigo, ya saben, para no perder la costumbre.

Hoy quería comentarles que por cuestiones de tiempo voy a dejar de lado mi faceta como periodista para concentrarme más en mí como escritor y como persona. Hay ciertas cosas, ciertos asuntos pendientes de los que tengo encargarme, y no concibo una mejor forma de hacerlo que escribiendo.

Esto no significa que dejarán de leerme aquí y allí, pero estaré siendo un poco más selecto en cuanto a lo que hago y lo que escribo. A pesar de que suene pretencioso, digamos que me estoy cansando de escribir sobre el imperio de los demás y no pensar en el que quiero crear. ¡No me culpen!

Obviamente esto también tiene que ver con los problemas eléctricos y mis ingresos, pero ya de eso habíamos hablado antes. Espero estén atentos porque tengo varias ideas para las historias y sé que a más de uno le van a gustar. ^^

Hi guys, how is this week treating you? This one's being rude to me, you know, so as not to lose the habit.

Today I wanted to tell you that for reasons of time I'll leave aside my face as a journalist to concentrate more on me as a writer and as a person. There are certain things, certain pending issues I have to deal with, and I do not conceive a better way to do it than writing.

This doesn't mean you'll stop reading me here and there, but I will be a little more select as to what I do and what I write. Although it sounds pretentious, let's say I'm getting tired of writing about the empire of others and not thinking about the one I want to create. Don't blame me!

Obviously this also has to do with electrical problems and my income, but we already talked about that before. I hope you are attentive because I have several ideas for the stories and I know many of you will like them. ^^

Libro Gratis de Julio / July's Free Book: Tinta Nocturna

¡Feliz lunes, Nocturnos! Es chiste, es chiste.

En vista de que durante junio no pude darles un libro gratis, ¡decidí que este mes serían dos! Junto con Verantina de Veniseria, también tienen Tinta Nocturna en descarga gratuita por el mes de julio.

Para los que no lo sepan, esta es una de las novelas de las que estoy más orgulloso. Feralda y Miela son personajes que me encantan, sus historias y su mundo son fantasía pura, salvo algunas contadas excepciones. Ya entenderán cuando lo lean. ^^ ¡Espero que les guste!

Happy Monday, Nighters! Just kidding, just kidding.

Since during June I couldn’t give you a free book, I decided this month it will be two! Along with Verantina de Veniseria, you also have Tinta Nocturna free to download during July.

For those who don’t know it, this is one of the novels I’m most proud of. Feralda and Miela are characters I love, their stories and their world are pure fantasy, except for a couple of exceptions. You’ll understand when you read it. ^^ Hope you like it!
