Musical Friday / Viernes Musicales: Fight like a girl (Emilie Autumn)

Hi guys! Another week that goes right to the fret. How did you do? I can say that at least mine has been interesting, at least. I can not think of a better way to close it than with Emilie Autumn's third album, Fight Like a Girl.

The album serves as the soundtrack to the book Emilie wrote a long time ago, The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, and deals with the issues of the story: rebellion, power, revenge and (so sweet it astonishes me) murders. Lot of heavy material, as you will have noticed.
Fight like a girl is an album that mixes electronic and heavy rock rhythms along with Victorian aesthetic and some classic music in the vein of Laced/Unlaced, plus a unique cinematic feel. Fun Fact: FLAG was written, composed, produced, recorded, mixed and edited ... completely by Emilie!
Among my favorites are the track of the same name, Time for Tea, If I Burn and Hell is Empty, which represent very well the vocal and musical power of FLAG. There are exceptions, simple and romantic tracks, very imaginative, but these four are the most emblematic in my opinion.

¡Hola chicos! Otra semana que se va al traste. ¿Cómo les fue a ustedes? Puedo decir que al menos la mía ha sido interesante, por lo menos. No se me ocurre una mejor manera de cerrarla que con el tercer disco de Emilie Autumn, Fight like a girl.

El álbum sirve como banda sonora del libro que escribió Emilie tiempo atrás, The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, y lidia con los temas propios de la historia: rebelión, poder, venganza y (tanta dulzura me asombra) asesinatos. Mucho material fuerte, como se habrán dado cuenta.

Fight like a girl es un disco que mezcla ritmos electrónicos y de rock pesado junto con estética victoriana y algunos toques de música clásica propia de Laced/Unlaced, además de una sensación cinematográfica única. Dato curioso: FLAG fue escrito, compuesto, producido, grabado, mezclado y editado… ¡completamente por Emilie!

Entre mis favoritas están el tema del mismo nombre, Time for Tea, If I Burn y Hell is Empty, los cuales representan muy bien el poder vocal y musical de FLAG. Hay sus excepciones, temas sencillos y románticos, muy imaginativos, pero estos cuatro son los más emblemáticos en mi opinión.
