¡Buenos día, Nocturnos! Espero que esta semana haya empezado bien para ustedes.

Hace algunos días pude ver la primera temporada de Titans, la serie basada en los super héroes de DC Comics. Siempre han sido mi equipo favorito de héroes gracias a la serie de 2003, así que no me lo pensé dos veces cuando pude verme esta primera temporada.

Titans, la primera serie original de DC Universe sigue a un grupo de jóvenes héroes a medida que crecen. Cuando Dick Grayson y Rachel Roth, alias Raven, una joven especial poseída por una extraña oscuridad, se ven envueltos en una conspiración que podría traer el Infierno a la Tierra, se les une la misteriosa Kory Anders alias Starfire, y el adorable Gar Logan, también conocido como Beast Boy. Juntos, se convierten en una familia sustituta y un equipo de héroes.

La primera temporada en sí trata sobre los lazos que se forman entre los héroes a medida que buscan respuestas con respecto al pasado de Raven, quien está perdiendo el control de sus poderes y tiene extrañas visiones que la aterrorizan constantemente. También explora el pasado de Robin y Starfire, dejando un poco de lado a Beast Boy, sin mencionar la tardía inclusión de Jason Todd.

Fuera de algunos detalles de producción y guión, algunos de los cuales me parecieron imperdonables (vamos, que Starfire incendia una habitación entera pero la foto que necesita queda intacta), Titans está muy bien hecha. La musicalización y la fotografía son excelentes, y la historia, oscura y violenta, es muy adictiva. Te atrapa de una manera impresionante, dejándote con ganas de ver más con cada episodio.

Tuvo sus altibajos, pero es una primera temporada muy bien lograda. Muchos personajes interesantes, ligeras diferencias con los cómics (aún estoy procesando algunos, a decir verdad) pero con un buen trabajo creativo. Por otro lado… ¡Imaginen mi sorpresa cuando vi que el gran Geoff Johns es escritor y productor ejecutivo de Titans! Gracias a este hombre fue que ellos adquirieron fama a principios del milenio (y quiero un episodio escrito enteramente por él, gracias). Definitivamente se pueden esperar grandes cosas.

Puede que me deje llevar cuando hablo de estos personajes, pero no me cansaré de leer sus historias, mucho menos de Raven, mi favorita. Que ella fuese el foco durante 11 episodios fue genial. ¿Qué les pareció a ustedes?

A few days ago I saw the first season of Titans, the series based on DC Comics superheroes. They've always been my favorite team of heroes thanks to the 2003 cartoon series, so I didn't think twice about seeing myself this first season.

Titans, DC Universe's first original series, follows a group of young heroes as they come of age. When Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth aka Raven, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth, they are joined by the mysterious Kory Anders aka Starfire, and loveable Gar Logan aka Beast Boy. Together, they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

The story in short is about the bonds that form between the heroes as they search for answers regarding Raven's past, who's losing control of her powers and has strange visions that terrify her constantly. It also explores the past of Robin and Starfire, leaving Beast Boy aside, not to mention the late inclusion of Jason Todd.

Outside of some production and script details, some of which I found unforgivable (come on, Starfire sets fire to an entire room but the photo she need remains intact), Titans is very well done. The music and photography are great, and the dark, violent story is very addictive. It catches you in an impressive way, leaving you wanting to see more with each episode.

It had its ups and downs, but it's a very successful first season. Lots of cool characters, slight differences from the comics (I'm still processing some, to tell the truth) but good creative work. On the other hand ... Imagine my surprise when I saw that the great Geoff Johns is a writer and executive producer for Titans! It was thanks to this man that they became famous at the beginning of the millennium (and I want an episode written entirely by him, thank you). Great things can definitely be expected.

I may get carried away when I talk about these characters, but I won't tire of reading their stories, much less Raven, my favorite. That she was the focus for 11 episodes was great. What do you think about it?
