¡Buenos días, Nocturnos! ¿Cómo estuvo esta semana? Espero que bien. ^^ Recibí muy buenas noticias recientemente, y espero que todo vaya por buen camino. ¡Crucen los dedos! Mientras que eso pasa, ¿qué les parece si hablamos del episodio de ayer de Doom Patrol?
Con un guión de la mano de Eric Dietel, Hair Patrol nos muestra parte de la historia detrás de Niles Caulder cuando era un miembro de la Oficina de Rarezas, enamorándose de una extra mujer velluda luego de quedar herido en un páramo. A su vez, la ahora Oficina de Normalidad envía al Cazador de Barbas para ubicar a Caulder, lo cual lo lleva a enfrentarse y burlar a a Cyborg y Rita mientras Larry, Jane y Cliff están inconscientes, luego de aparentemente descubrir todos los secretos de Niles.
Aunque fue alentador descubrir un poco sobre El Jefe, me quedé con un sabor agridulce en la boca porque terminé con más preguntas que respuestas. Esto bien puede abrir la puerta a más episodios que nos guíen hacia Caulder, una figura que ha sido más un enigma que cualquier otra cosa, pero el Hair Patrol por sí solo no es muy impactante.
El desarrollo es un poco confuso y siento que quisieron forzarme a interesarme más en Niles Caulder de lo que ya estoy, lo cual tuvo el efecto contrario. El Cazador de Barbas fue una adición atractiva al excéntrico elenco, y con un final así supongo que será la última vez que lo vemos, pero con los guionistas de esta serie nunca se sabe, así que toca esperar.
Francamente, esperaba algo mejor de este episodio, especialmente porque empezó muy bien. Estoy inconforme principalmente por las secuencias del presente, en donde bien pudimos haber descubierto un poco más sobre el Cazador de Barbas, además de que el enfrentamiento entre él y Cyborg fue muy confuso. Es otro episodio extraño, pero entretenido y que me mantuvo pegado al televisor.
¿Qué opinaron ustedes? Recientemente leí que la serie fue renovada para una segunda temporada, pautada a estrenarse en HBO Max y DC Universe el 25 de junio de este año. ¿Van a verla? Sé que yo sí. ¡Un saludo y un abrazo!
Good morning, Nighters! How was this week? I hope it's ok. ^^ I received very good news recently, and I hope everything is on track. Cross your fingers! While that happens, how about we talk about yesterday's episode of Doom Patrol?
With a script by Eric Dietel, Hair Patrol shows us part of the story behind Niles Caulder when he was a member of The Bureau of Oddities, falling in love with an super hairy woman after being injured in a wasteland. In turn, the now Bureau of Normalcy dispatches the Beard Hunter to locate Caulder, leading him to confront and outwit Cyborg and Rita while Larry, Jane, and Cliff are unconscious, after apparently discovering all of Niles' secrets.
Although it was encouraging to find out a bit about The Chief, I was left with a bittersweet taste in my mouth because I ended up with more questions than answers. This may well open the door for more episodes to lead us to Caulder, a figure who has been more of a puzzle than anything else, but Hair Patrol on its own is not very surprising.
Development is a bit confusing and I feel like they wanted to force me to become more interested in Niles Caulder than I already am, which had the opposite effect. The Beard Hunter was an attractive addition to the eccentric cast, and with an ending like this I suppose it will be the last time we see it, but with the writers of this series you never know, so it's time to wait.
Frankly, I was expecting something better from this episode, especially since it started very well. I'm mainly unhappy about the sequences in the present, where we may well have found out a little more about the Beard Hunter, plus the confrontation between him and Cyborg was very confusing. It is another weird episode, but an entertaining one and that kept me glued to the television.
