¡Hola! ¿Algo interesante que compartir?

Today I wanted to share with you some of the inspirations I’ve found so far, only on authors and writers that, somehow, have inspired or motivated me to keep working as a writer. Also, to create a limit, I will only include narrative writers; there are artists and script writers that have done the same for me, but I cannot properly include them all in a single entry.

Hoy quería compartir con ustedes algunas de las inspiraciones que he encontrado hasta ahora, sólo en cuanto autores y escritores que, de alguna manera, me han inspirado o motivado a seguir trabajando como escritor. Además, para crear un límite, sólo incluiré escritores de narrativa; hay artistas y guionistas que han hecho lo mismo por mí, pero no puedo incluirlos correctamente en una sola entrada.

The first one is a great master from the past: Edgar Allan Poe, a man I feel connected with, as I said in Intravenous Magazine, and whose tales I’ve been reading for a while. His creativity surprises me every time I read him and each story I start is better than the past one!

El primero es un gran maestro del pasado: Edgar Allan Poe, un hombre con el que me siento conectado, como dije en Intravenous Magazine, y cuyos cuentos he estado leyendo por un tiempo. Su creatividad me sorprende cada vez que lo leo ¡y cada historia que empiezo es mejor que la anterior!

Some may hate me for saying this, others will know it, but I must include my dear Stephenie Meyer. She’s a woman I truly admire, as she wasn’t afraid of taking any risk with her stories and who has stood up despite criticism and defended her view of vampires by the sword.

Algunos me pueden odiar por decir esto, otros lo sabrán, pero debo incluir a mi querida Stephenie Meyer. Es una mujer a la que realmente admiro, ya que no tenía miedo de arriesgarse con sus historias y que se ha levantado a pesar de las críticas y defendido su visión de los vampiros a capa y espada.

I could also include Andrea Cremer, P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast, who practically created a new, different and fresh version of their highlighted creatures to develop original and highly addictive stories. These girls, like Meyer, took a risk that gave them everything they wanted.

También podría incluir a Andrea Cremer, P. C. Cast y Kristin Cast, quienes prácticamente crearon una versión nueva, diferente y fresca de sus criaturas destacadas para desarrollar historias originales y altamente adictivas. Estas chicas, como Meyer, corrieron un riesgo que les dio todo lo que querían.

Another name I can think about is Kassfinol, a dear friend of mine I’ve worked with for a while. She’s the kind of person who knows how to develop her stories, how to work and that never stops learning and practicing the things she’s interested or believes in.

Otro nombre en el que puedo pensar es Kassfinol, una querida amiga mía con la que he trabajado durante un tiempo. Es la clase de persona que sabe cómo desarrollar sus historias, cómo trabajar y que nunca deja de aprender y practicar las cosas en las que está interesada o cree.

There are many more, but there’s not enough space in a single entry to list them all or, shame on me, I haven’t  read enough material from them to be sure and include them in the list. However, these are the most important when I think about great writers.

Hay muchos más, pero no hay suficiente espacio en una sola entrada para enumerar a todos o, vergüenza en mí, no he leído suficiente material de ellos para estar seguro e incluirlos en la lista. Sin embargo, estos son los más importantes cuando pienso en grandes escritores.
