Thinking / Pensando: Romance Paranormal?

Hello guys, how have you been? This is not my week, for real. I haven’t work on Reflections for a couple of days as I haven’t feel in the mood, to be honest. I will talk about it next Monday, but today, I would like to tell you a bit about one of my favorite genres: Paranormal Romance.

Despite it could seems similar to DarkFantasy, there’s a clear difference: while first one highlights action, elaborated plots and complex ideas, Paranormal Romance is focused on that: romance, love, how the characters meet, their problems, and if they achieve a happy end or not.

Also, these books tend to be much simpler, as they are most likely to be located to real locations. The main idea for them is to have a human falling in love with a supernatural being, mostly a vampire, which is becoming a hateful cliché, if anyone asks me.

We won’t find extensive background stories, complex societies, heavy reading or anything similar, as it is mainly intended for teenagers. However, contrary to what people may think, this genre is for both adults and teens alike, as you will be able to find both kind of stories in it.

Hope this helps a little for you guys and to have a more defined idea on what you like to read. Remember that this is just a general point of view, there are a lot of exceptions to the rule! Hola chicos, ¿cómo han estado? Esta no es mi semana, en serio. No he trabajado en Reflections por un tiempo ya que no me siento de ánimos, para ser honesto. Hablaré de ello el próximo lunes, pero hoy, me gustaría contarles un poco acerca de uno de mis géneros favoritos: el Romance Paranormal.

A pesar de que podría parecer similar a Fantasía Oscura, hay una clara diferencia: mientras que la primera destaca la acción, las tramas elaboradas y las ideas complejas, el Romance Paranormal se centra en eso: el romance, el amor, cómo se conocen los personajes, sus problemas y si logran un final feliz o no
Además, estos libros tienden a ser mucho más simples, ya que lo más probable es que se ubiquen en lugares reales. La idea principal es tener un ser humano enamorado de un ser sobrenatural, sobre todo vampiro, lo que se está convirtiendo en un cliché odioso, si alguien me pregunta.
No encontraremos extensas historias de fondo, sociedades complejas, lectura pesada o similares ya que está dirigido principalmente a adolescentes. Sin embargo, a diferencia de lo que lo que se pueda pensar, este género es para adultos y adolescentes por igual, ya que se hay ambos tipos de historias en él.
Espero que esto les ayude un poco y tengan una idea más definida sobre lo que les gusta leer. Recuerden que esto es sólo un punto de vista general, ¡hay un montón de excepciones a la regla!
