El nuevo capítulo de la historia de Clara y Axel está mucho más desarrollado y pulido que el anterior, con un estilo que encanta desde la primera página. Hay varios detalles que te llaman la atención, cada uno un misterio más pequeño relacionado con la pregunta millonaria de qué pasó realmente en Grimm's Hollow para que cayera la maldición.

Clara es un personaje excepcional que crece muchísimo. Kathryn explora su carácter de una forma muy humana, mostrando su mejor y peor lado. Los mismo sucede con Axel y gran parte del elenco, pero Clara es sin dudas la estrella en todo momento. Su estilo de escritura es precioso, como era de esperarse, y juega con los tropos clásicos del romance y la fantasía como lo son el triángulo amoroso y las profecías para darte respuestas que no esperabas.

Hubo momentos que sentí fueron más largos de lo necesario, aunque las descripciones y detalles no me molestaron. La lectur ase volvió tan adictiva al punto de querer que todo avanzara más rápido para tener todas las respuestas. Kathryn juega con tus emociones de una manera que debería ser ilegal, pero así son los autores que más me admiro.

The Deahtly Grimm es una novela preciosa que no pierde encanto en ningún momento. Con un estilo único, personajes humanos que buscan lo que más anhelan, y un villano inesperado, por no mencionar los dones de Clara que te dejan boquiabierto cada vez que los usa, es una lectura que no decepciona en ningún momento. Perfecta para perderse, sonreír, sufrir, y soñar sin pausa.

The new chapter in Clara and Axel's story is much more developed and polished than the previous one, with a style that captivates from the first page. Several details catch your attention, each a smaller mystery related to the millionaire question of what really happened in Grimm's Hollow to cause the curse.

Clara is an exceptional character who grows enormously. Kathryn explores her character in a very human, showing her best and worst sides. The same goes for Axel and much of the cast, but Clara is undoubtedly the star throughout. Her writing style is beautiful, as expected, and plays with classic romance and fantasy tropes such as love triangles and prophecies to give you answers you were not expecting.

Some moments felt longer than needed, although the descriptions and details didn't bother me. Reading became so addictive that I wanted everything to move faster to get all the answers. Kathryn plays with your emotions in a way that should be illegal, but that's how the authors I admire most do.

The Deahtly Grimm is a beautiful novel that never loses its charm. With a unique style, human characters searching for what they most desire, and an unexpected villain—not to mention Clara's gifts that leave you speechless every time she uses them—it's a reading that never disappoints. Perfect for losing yourself, smiling, suffering, and dreaming without pause.

Hace poco terminé de leer Muted: Volume 1, por Miranda Mundt, y necesito ser un simple fan por un tiempo, así que déjenme estar ser por un momento. La historia comienza un poco lenta, y tiene sus altibajos, pero el guión está tan bien trabajado que se te pasan las páginas volando sin que te des cuenta. Es de esas tramas que te sorprenden sin parar hasta el punto de que pierdes la noción del tiempo, porque los personajes se vuelven tan familiares, tan cercanos, y en tan poco tiempo, que simplemente te sumerges en su mundo sin dificultad.

También tengo que celebrar el arte. Es precioso, limpio, y uno de los puntos más fuertes de este primer volúmen. Es difícil dar con alguien que presente un estilo propio o una propuesta original, pero Miranda Mundt lo hace y presenta el resultado de una forma orgánica. Todos los páneles se ven tan bien trabajados que es fácil enamorarse de ellos.

Mi única preocupación es el posible inta-amor que se ve más adelante en la lectura. No se sintió tan natural como el resto de la trama. Mientras que todos los demás elementos están incluídos de la mejor manera, sentí que el romance simplemente fue agregado como para estar "allí", llegando a rozar lo superflúo. Hay material para mejorar, pero hasta ahora es el elemento más débil en la mezcla.

En líneas generales, Muted: Volume 1 presenta un mundo fascinante al que ansío volver. Bien contruído y con un trasfondo que me intriga muchísimo, personajes que son imposibles no adorar y una trama que evoluciona sin problemas, Miranda Mundt ha creado una joya gráfica con todos los ingredientes correctos. Altamente recomendable si les gustan las historias de fantasía oscura fáciles de leer y de amar.

I recently finished reading Muted: Volume 1, by Miranda Mundt, and I need to fanboy about it for a while, so please let me be for a bit. The story starts off a bit slow, and has its ups and downs, but the script is so well crafted that the pages fly by without you even realizing it. It's one of those plots that surprises you non-stop to the point that you lose track of time, because the characters become so familiar, so close, and in such a short time, that you simply immerse yourself in their world without difficulty.

I also have to celebrate the art. It's beautiful, clean, and one of the strongest points of this first volume. It's hard to find someone who presents their own style or an original proposal, but Miranda Mundt does it and organically presents the result. All the panels look so well crafted that it's easy to fall in love with them.

My only concern is the possible in-love seen later in the reading. It didn't feel as natural as the rest of the plot. While all the other elements are included to the best of my ability, I felt that the romance was simply added as if to be "there," bordering on superfluous. There is room for improvement, but so far it is the weakest element in the mix.

Overall, Muted: Volume 1 presents a fascinating world that I look forward to returning to. Well-crafted and with a background that intrigues me greatly, characters that are impossible not to love, and a plot that evolves smoothly, Miranda Mundt has created a graphic gem with all the right ingredients. Highly recommended if you like dark fantasy stories that are easy to read and love.
