¡Buen día, nocturnos! Ayer estuve en perdido en un mundo invernal, inmerso por completo en una historia con la que muchos se podrán sentir identificados. Su encanto gótico me enamoró al instante, a pesar de tener mis dudas al principio.

Kriss:The Gift of Wrath, escrito por Ted Naifeh y con el arte de Warren Wucinich, era un cómic del que no estaba seguro de si leer o no. Había algo en la sinopsis que no me convencía del todo, pero decidí darle una oportunidad. Resulta ser que la sinopsis no le hace justicia a esta maravilla de historia.

Kriss ha sido siempre un paría, la oveja negra de todo un pueblo. Sin embargo, cuando una bestia está a punto de cobrar su vida, Kriss obtiene el poder necesario para cambiar su mundo y encontrar un destino que no está seguro de querer. Bien podría conseguir todo aquello con lo que siempre ha soñado, o perder lo poco que ha encontrado.

Admito que, aunque no sabía qué esperar, Kriss:The Gift of Wrath fue una sorpresa tras otra. Este primer volumen nos presenta al personaje desde su infancia, como un pequeño desadaptado, hasta convertirse en un condenado a muerte por traición a la corona. A pesar de todo, y por la forma en que se van desarrollando, es imposible no sentir simpatía por él.

Ted Naifeh creó una historia que explora, con muchísimos elementos fantásticos, la manera en que todos nos llegamos a sentir. Los personajes son un reflejo perfecto de la adolescencia, cuando creemos que nadie nos entiende, cuando realmente estamos solos contra el mundo, y lleva la huella emocional suficientemente fuerte como para hacer que los lectores se identifiquen con él al instante.

Gran parte del mérito y del atractivo que tiene Kriss:The Gift of Wrath es también gracias al trabajo de Warren Wucinich, quien supo darle vida a todo este universo tan particular. Todas las páginas demuestran lo violenta (emocionalmente) que es la historia. La estética gótica le da un toque lúgubre a las escenas más imprevistas.

Los amantes de la acción, temas sociales, mundos bien construidos y una buena dosis de fantasía devorarán este primer volumen. Intenso, adictivo y atractivo, Kriss:The Gift of Wrath va camino a ser el favorito de muchos lectores. ¡Estoy ansioso por ver qué es lo que viene!

Good day, nighters! Yesterday I was lost in a winter world, completely immersed in a story with which many may feel identified. Its gothic charm made me instantly fell in love with it, despite having my doubts at the beginning.

Kriss:The Gift of Wrath, written by Ted Naifeh and with the art of Warren Wucinich, was a comic book I wasn't sure whether to read or not. There was something about the synopsis that didn't convince me at all, but I decided to give it a try. It turns out that the synopsis doesn't do justice to this wonder of story.

Kriss has always been an outcast, the black sheep of a whole town. However, when a beast is about to take his life, Kriss gets the power to change his world and find a destiny he's not sure he wants. He could well get everything he has always dreamed of, or lose what little he has found.

I admit that, although I didn't know what to expect, Kriss:The Gift of Wrath was one surprise after the other. This first volume introduces us to the character from his childhood, as a small maladjustment, until he became a death row for treason to the crown. In spite of this, and because of the way everything develops, it is impossible not to feel sympathy for him.

Ted Naifeh created a story that explores, with many fantastic elements, the way we all used to feel. The characters are a perfect reflection of adolescence, when we hink that no one understands us, when we are really alone against the world, and it carries a emotional footprint strong enough to make readers identify with him right away.

Much of the merit and appeal that Kriss:The Gift of Wrath has is also thanks to the work of Warren Wucinich, who knew how to bring this whole universe to life. All pages show how violent (emotionally) the story is. Gothic aesthetics give a gloomier touch to the most unexpected scenes.

Lovers of action, social themes, well-built worlds and a good dose of fantasy will devour this first volume. Intense, addictive and attractive, Kriss:The Gift of Wrath is on its way to being a many readers' favorite. I'm eager to see what's coming!
