¡Hola, Nocturnos! ¿Como se sienten? Siguiendo con las entradas de Crepúsculo y la espera de Sol de Medianoche, y como ya hablé sobre Bella Swan y por qué la ampe tanto en los libros, ahora es el momento de hablar sobre el vampiro brillante del que sabremos más en agosto: Edward Cullen

El hecho de que puede caminar bajo el sol y de que brilla le ha dado MUCHO odio, tal vez incluso más que a Bella, y ha sido criticado por ser un personaje posesivo, pero lo encuentro como un gran ejemplo para los lectores masculinos. Dada la oportunidad, Edward puede convertirse en una gran inspiración para jóvenes, si aún no lo ha hecho. Aquí están mis pruebas sobre el caso:

Crepúsculo: Cuando conoció a Bella, Edward se defendió tanto como pudo, hizo todo lo que estaba en su poder para mantenerse alejado, y luego trató de protegerla para mantener a salvo el secreto de su familia. A pesar de su química, Edward se mantuvo fiel a su familia hasta que descubrió que podía tener ambas cosas, sin importar lo que Rosalie pensara. ¿Y sobre su pelea con James? Luna Nueva: Cuando Edward vio que incluso su familia sería un peligro para Bella, decidió ponerla en una posición más segura e irse. Puso a un lado sus deseos y necesidades y pensó en lo que estaba seguro sería lo mejor para Bella.

Eclipse: Aunque la amaba, Edward llegó a comprender que Bella también necesitaba a Jacob. Las razones no importaban, y él respetaba que su novia, y luego su prometida, quería que el lobo fuera parte de su vida. Durante la lucha contra el ejército, Edward fue su defensor y se aseguró de que sus deseos fueran sus órdenes. Ella era su prioridad, como siempre, pero él la dejó tomar el control de la situación.

Amanecer: Este fue el momento más oscuro de Edward porque todos sus peores temores se volvieron reales. Él sería responsable de la desaparición de Bella y trataría de hacerla cambiar de opinión. Cuando alguien dice que Edward es todo lo que un vampiro no debería ser, creo que en realidad es lo que un hombre debe ser: lo suficientemente seguro como para dejar el centro de atención y mostrar su lado más vulnerable.

Hi there, Nighters! How are you feeling? Keeping with the Twilight entries and the wait for Midnight Sun, and since I already spoke about Bella Swan and why I loved her so much in the books, now it’s time to speak about the sparkling vampire we will know more about on August: Edward Cullen. 

The fact that he can walk under the sun and that he sparks has given him A LOT of hate, maybe even more than Bella, and has been criticized for being a possessive character, but I find him as a great example for male readers. Given the chance to, Edward can become a great inspiration for young boys, if he hasn’t already. Here are my proofs on the case: 

Twilight: When he first met Bella, Edward fought back as much as he could, did everything in his power to stay away, and then tried to protect her to keep his family’s secret safe. Despite their chemistry, Edward stayed loyal to his family until he discovered he could have both things, no matter what Rosalie thought. And about his fight with James? He did what he had to do to keep her alive. 

New Moon: When Edward saw that even his family would be a danger for Bella, he decided to put her in a safer positon and leave. It didn’t matter if he was in pain, if he was suffering, but that he and his very clan could hurt the one he loved the most. He put his wishes and needs beside and thought about what he was sure would be the best for Bella. 

Eclipse: Although he loved her, Edward came to understand Bella also needed Jacob. The reasons didn’t matter, and he respected his girlfriend, and then fiancé, wanted the wolf to be a part of her life. During the fight against the army, Edward was her advocate and made sure her wishes were his commands. She was his priority, as always, but he let her take control of the situation. 

Breaking Dawn: This was Edward’s darkest time because all of his worst fears became real. He would be responsible for Bella’s demise and tried to make her change her mind. He let her down for a long time, but redeemed himself when he decided to do the right thing and honor his wife’s wishes, facing the whole world, almost literally, to defend the most precious things in his life. 

Edward is far from being a perfect character, and he surely made MANY mistakes in the books, but he learned from them and proved to be more than just a pretty boy for girls to dream about. When someone says Edward is everything a vampire shouldn’t be, I think he is actually what a man has to be: confident enough to leave the spotlight and show his most vulnerable side.

¡Hola! ¿Cómo se sienten hoy, Nocturnos? Con Sol de Medianoche acercándose más y más cada día, recordé muchas cosas que amaba de Crepúsculo, y hay una en particular que destacó por encima de todo en esta serie: Isabella Swan.

Puedo entender que algunas personas no pueden soportarla, pero Bella Swan es una mujer poderosa, es un ejemplo para sus lectoras y me encantaría que si alguna vez tengo una hija que sea tan valiente e intrépida como ella. Necesitamos más chicas como ella, y no estoy hablando de personajes que se mantengan castos y puros hasta la boda. Déjenme explicar, libro por libro:

Crepúculo: Bella estaba en su punto más débil aquí, plana e incluso aburrida a veces, lo admito, pero causó una impresión cuando fue capaz de engañar a una vampira psíquica y uno que podía influir en sus sentimientos, y todo para mantener alejado a un vampiro sádico de su papá, amigos y novio. Los reto a que hagan lo mismo.

Luna Nueva: A pesar de que alcanzó lo más bajo, me gustó cómo Bella enfrentó a toda la manada de Quileute cuando pensó que le habían hecho algo a Jacob. Que también decidiera lo que quería al final del libro y lo consultara con toda la familia Cullen también fue increíble. Bella demostró que tiene sus ideas claras y no acepta un no por respuesta.

Eclipse: Todos saben que los vampiros y los lobos juntos son un desastre, pero Bella insistió en que las diferencias no eran importantes cuando un ejército de vampiros se dirigía a Fork. Tuvo una actitud sensata con ambas partes, los hizo trabajar juntos y habló con más honestidad y franqueza que en el pasado. ¡Incluso se usó a sí misma como distracción para asegurar la victoria!

Amanecer: Mi madre es mi ídolo, punto, y el hecho de que Bella se mantuviera firme sobre tener a su bebé fue IN-CRE-Í-BLE. Hizo lo que tenía que hacer para continuar, incluso si eso significaba perderlo todo. Las cosas mejoraron aún más cuando decidió enfrentar a los Vulturi para defender a su familia, desarrollando su don lo más posible. ¡La amé en este libro más que nunca!

Muchos detractores excusan sus comentarios debido a las películas, donde Bella parece ser mucho más débil, y que está obsesionada con Edward, pero, sobre el primero, es muy diferente en los libros, y en cuanto al segundo, ¿quién puede culparla? Hi there! How are you feeling today, Nighters? With Midnight Sun coming nearer and nearer each day, I remembered many things I loved from Twilight, and there is one in particular I loved the most about this series: Isabella Swan. 

I can understand that some people cannot stand her, but Bella Swan is a powerful woman, she’s an example for her female readers and I would love it if I ever have a daughter as brave and fearless as she is. We need more girls like her, and I’m not talking about characters that remain chaste and pure until wedding. Let me explain, book by book:

Twilight: Bella was on her weakest point here, dull and even boring sometimes, I admit it, but she made an impression when she was able to fool a psychic vampire and one who could influence her feelings, and all to keep a sadistic vampire away from her dad, friends and boyfriend. I dare you to do the same.

New Moon: Despite she hit the lowest low, I liked how Bella faced the whole Quileute pack when she thought they had done something to Jacob. That she also decided what she wanted at the end of the book and consulted it with all of the Cullen family was amazing as well. Bella proved she has her ideas clear and doesn’t take a no for an answer.

Eclipse: Everyone knows vampires and wolves together are a disaster in the making, but Bella was adamant that differences were unimportant when a vampire army was on its way to forks. She had a no-nonsense attitude with both sides, made them work together, and spoke more honestly and straightforward than in the past. She even used herself as a distraction to secure victory!

Breaking Dawn: My mom’s my idol, no questioning this, and the fact that Bella stood strong and firm about having her baby was AWE-SOME. She did what she had to do to carry on even if it meant losing it all. Things got even better when she decided to face the Volturi to defend her family, developing her gift as much as possible. I loved her in this book more than ever before!

Many haters excuse their comments because of the movies, where Bella seems to be way much weaker, and that she is obsessed with Edward, but, about the first one, she’s very different in the books, and as for the second, who can blame her? I’ll talk about Edward in the future, so stay tuned!

¡Esta antología fue una agradable sorpresa! Realmente me gustó cómo algunos de los cuentos cambiaron y se convirtieron en una historia diferente, aunque otros, como Rapunzel y (mi favorito), el Flautista de Hamelin, no tuvieron muchas novedades. De las nueve historias incluidas, las cuatro de Alemania son las más oscuras y, por supuesto, las amo más.

Hay varios estilos aquí, que van desde el aspecto de anime al americano, e incluso un enfoque más experimental. Hay un poco de todo para todos, pero me gustó el tono general más oscuro en todos los cuentos, algunos de los cuales incluso incluían violencia pero siempre adecuados para los niños; ¡tal vez incluso a los adolescentes les gustaría echarle un vistazo!

Kel McDonald y Kate Ashwin hicieron un gran trabajo aquí, ¡y, por supuesto, el resto de los creadores también! Me enamoré particularmente de Tatterhood, por Kate y Shaggy Shanahan, Rapunzel de Lin Visel Ovens y Hamelin’s Piper de José Pimienta. Es una dosis de fantasía muy necesaria para desconectarse del mundo real y vivir en el mundo mágico de las fábulas. Aunque parece largo, no toma tiempo leerlo y querrán repasarlo una y otra vez, descubriendo nuevas capas de significado en estas aventuras. ¡Una lectura asombrosa!

I’m on my third day in a row with no internet (I wrote the entry when there was none, hehe,) so I’ve been reading more, but it also means that, if I happen to disappear all of a sudden for no explanation… Well, you will know why… Anyway, today I want to tell you about a great comic anthology I just read and I’m sure you will enjoy: The Nixie of the Mill-Pond and Other European Stories, edited by Kel McDonald and Kate Ashwin. This anthology was a nice surprise! I really liked how some of the tales changed and become a different story, although others, like Rapunzel and (favorite of mine) Hamelin’s Piper, didn't have much news. Of the nine stories included, the four from Germany are the darkest ones, and of course I love them the most.

There are several style in here, going from the anime-looking to western, and even a more experimental approach. There is a bit of everything for everyone, but I liked the general darker tone on all of the tales, some of which even included violence but always suited to children; maybe even teenagers would like to have a look at it!

Kel McDonald and Kate Ashwin did a great job here, and of course the rest of the creators as well! I was particularly in love with Tatterhood, by Kate and Shaggy Shanahan, Rapunzel by Lin Visel Ovens, and Hamelin’s Piper by José Pimienta. I found this anthology interesting mostly because, although not aimed to be educational, it kept the morals and lessons (and the charm, which is essential) of the original tales. I would have loved to read this when I was in school, that’s for sure.

The Nixie of the Mill-Pond and Other European Stories was nice, funny and charming. It's a much-needed dose of fantasy to disconnect from the real world and dwell in the magical world of fables. Although it seems long, it takes no time to read it and you will want to go over it again and again, discovering new layers of meaning in these adventures. An awesome reading!

Música / Music: The Birthday Massacre - Diamonds

¡Buen día, Nocturnos! Estuve desaparecido todo este tiempo porque no tuve NADA de internet sino hasta ahora (medianoche del 22 de julio)... Venezuela be like. ¡Alterno Nerva finalmente salió a la venta! Para los que no lo hayan hecho, pueden comprar una edición exclusiva en Amazon o leerla gratis en Wattpad si están cortos de dinero. Cualquier comentario, voto o cobertura que le puedan dar a la novela significará el mundo para mí. ^^ Hoy les comparto mi opinión sobre el disco más reciente de una de las bandas que me mantuvo motivado: Diamonds, de The Birthday Massacre.

Esta banda canadiense es de mis favoritas, principalmente porque a pesar del tiempo y su evolución musical su estilo se mantiene. Rock electrónico oscuro, letras evocadoras, un aura mística y un estilo rebelde pero sin caer en el desorden. No hay álbum que no me guste. y evidentemente no es la primera vez que hablo de ellos en el blog.

Diamonds, el trabajo más reciente de la banda, salió el 27 de marzo de este año, con un sonido mucho más sólido que en discos anteriores, pero manteniendo el estilo que los ha caracterizado desde el principio y tocando temas como la identidad, el universo, el futuro incierto y la realidad.

Chibi, la vocalista, expresa perfectamente sentimientos como la depresión, el deseo de redención, haciendo de este un viaje de sanación a través de las sombras más oscuras del ser. Con un tono suave, como de ensueño, describe los deseos más profundos que puede tener una persona durante las noches de insomnio. Las letras varían desde las más sencillas y directas a las más metafóricas, agregando capas de significado.

Escuchar Diamonds ha sido una experiencia sanadora para mí durante este tiempo. Me ha hecho pensar en tantas cosas que prefiero no mencionarlas y dejar que cada quien tenga su propia opinión. Lo que sí diré es que me ha hecho reflexionar muchísimo tanto sobre mí mismo y mis sentimientos como sobre temas más grandes que yo. Es un viaje espiritual, sin dudas.

Any comments, votes, or coverage you can give to the novel will mean the world to me. ^^ Today I share my opinion on the most recent album by one of the bands that kept me motivated: Diamonds, by The Birthday Massacre.

This Canadian band is one of my favorites, mainly because despite the time and its musical evolution, its style remains. Dark electronic rock, evocative lyrics, a mystical aura and a rebellious style but without falling into disarray. There's not an album I don't like, and obviously it's not the first time that I talk about them on the blog.

Diamonds, the most recent work of the band, came out on March 27 of this year, with a much more solid sound than in previous albums, but maintaining the style that has characterized them from the beginning and touching on themes such as identity, the universe, the uncertain future and reality.

Chibi, the vocalist, perfectly expresses feelings like depression, the desire for redemption, making this a journey of healing through the darkest shadows of being. In a soft, dreamy tone, she describes the deepest desires a person can have during sleepless nights. The lyrics range from the simplest and most direct to the most metaphorical, adding layers of meaning.

Listening to Diamonds has been a healing experience for me during this time. It has made me think of so many things that I prefer not to mention them and let everyone have their own opinion. What I will say is that it has made me reflect a lot both on myself and my feelings and on issues greater than myself. It's a spiritual journey, without a doubt.

Alterno Nerva - Dream Cast

Buen día, nocturnos. ^^ Espero que estén bien. Hoy ando de cumpleaños, y aunque he estado ultimando los detalles para la publicación de Alterno Nerva en papel, en medio de fallas de internet, bajones y apagones eléctricos... Frustrante es decir poco, pero en medio del caos decidí que compartirles a quienes creo que podrían encarar a los personajes de la novela.

Aunque la historia está ubicada en Maracaibo, considerada la segunda capital de Venezuela, solo hay un actor venezolano en la lista. ^^' Intenté que incluir caras más variadas, pero apenas encontré las indicadas, no pude pasarlas por alto. Puede ser que mi problema sea que nunca he tenido una imagen de mis personajes cuando escribo, y apenas al final es cuando creo saber cómo lucen. Los padres de Edgar fueron los más difusos, prácticamente sin rostro durante toda la novela, pero conociéndolos mejor es que logro darles finalmente cuerpo.

Es irónico lo difícil que se me hizo imaginar a esta gente y darles una identidad en el mundo real, porque justamente sobre eso se trata Alterno Nerva: La identidad, la aceptación de quiénes somos, la autoestima y cómo nos ven los demás. En fin, espero saber qué piensan, qué opinan de estas caras, y si los imaginan así a medida que van leyendo la historia. ^^ Y para los que quieran hacerme un regalo, recuerden que pueden votar, comentar, compartir la historia en Wattpad o pedir una de las ediciones exclusiva a la venta en Amazon o la tienda que prefieran.

Edgar Torres (Jakub Gierszał - Sala Samobójców/Suicide Room)

Edgar fue el más sencillo de todos, aunque creo que tomé la elección más fácil y creo que ya había escogido a Jakub en algún momento. Sin embargo, Jakub es muy similar a Edgar en esta película, y no podía dejarlo de lado. Tiene la cara, la mirada, el cabello, las ojeras (pero no lo ojos verdes... lástima, sería perfecto). Puedo verlo encerrado en su habitación practicando rutina tras rutina, buscando música nueva y teniendo crisis nerviosas todas las noches.

Sylvia Lobos (Emily Rudd)

Cuando pensé en Sylvia, necesitaba a alguien que fuese delicada pero que también pudiera dar miedo cuando se enojara, alguien con una cara preciosa pero que denotara carácter. En la novela, Edgar la compara con una vampira, así que también debía parecer... atemporal. Cuando busqué opciones, Emily Rudd, y en esta foto en específico, resultó ser la imagen perfecta de Sylvia. Se ve dulce, atenta, pero con un carácter fuerte. Solo le falta la ropa negra. Es justo como la imagino.

Mateo Xiao Chen Silva (Xiao Zhan)

Mateo es el tipo de muchacho despreocupado, liberal, simpático, es el mejor amigo perfecto, el tipo de persona que siempre busca hacerte sonreír y pasarla bien, pero que también está muy en contacto con sus emociones. Fue un poco más difícil dar con alguien que tuviera estas características y que lo reflejara todo en una foto, pero Xiao Zhan tiene ese porte despreocupado y chistoso, incluso comparte parte de su nombre con Mateo. ^^ Cuando vi la foto, fue obvio que tenía que ser él.

Dante Ferrer (Froy Gutierrez)

Aunque Dante no tiene un papel tan fuerte en la novela, sus acciones sí provocan muchos cambios. Es muy similar a Mateo, con la diferencia de que su carácter es más fuerte, tiende a ser más directo y serio. Mientras que Mateo siempre dice las cosas de la manera más suave posible, y Sylvia suelta todo sin pensarlo, Dante es un término medio. No lo identifico del todo en Froy, pero se acerca bastante, solo que no tan pelirrojo (si es que eso se puede considerar rojo) ni pecoso (imaginen la cara plagada de puntos).

Víctor Moreno (Dylan Sprouse)

Es el "villano" principal junto con Cristina. Necesitaba a alguien que transmitiera fuerza, con un aura imponente aunque fuese joven, y que diera esa vibra de bravucón. Tenía mis dudas cuando pensé en los gemelos Sprouse, hasta que vi esta foto de Dylan Sprouse. Lo puedo imaginar acosando a Edgar sin problemas.

Cristina Peralta (Amanda Seyfried)

Pasó igual con Cristina. No tenía una imagen de qué buscaba, hasta que vi la foto de Amanda Seyfried. Parece una chica popular de los 90s, y no me cuesta imaginarla provocando peleas a dónde sea que vaya.

Ángela Torres (Ellen Pompeo)

Aunque Ellen encarna a una mujer profesional en Grey's Anatomy, cuando la veo pienso en una mujer de familia, alguien preocupada 100% por su hogar y dedicada a él, tiene ese aire maternal y emotivo que me hizo pensar en ella cuando quise darle rostro a Ángela, la madre de Edgar.

Roger Torres (Edgar Ramírez)

El único venezolano la lista, lo admito. ^^'  Edgar Ramírez transmite la fuerza y la entereza de Roger, el padre de Edgar, justo como imagino a un padre con un hijo inseguro y que no entiende por qué sencillamente no pone un alto a los abusos que sufre. Para él es natural por su seguridad y fuerza de voluntad, y es justo eso lo que quiere transmitirle a Edgar (y a los lectores, jeje).

Magaly Molina (Oprah Winfrey)

Finalmente, tenía que incluir a esta mujer. Está basada en una profesora que me ayudó y me tuvo bajo sus alas en todo momento durante mi tiempo en el bachillerato, y necesitaba una cara que me la recordara. Esta foto de Oprah es justo como recuerdo a esta señora, con las facciones fuertes, el cabello siempre perfecto, la sonrisa brillante pero con un porte que inspira respeto en todo momento.

Cómic: Vampire State Building

Aunque el comienzo fue un poco apresurado para mi gusto, dejándome como perdido y confundido por un momento, las piezas cayeron en donde pertenecen y se vuelve obvio que estás a punto de ver la locura en pleno y el lado más más crudo de la naturaleza humana: supervivencia. La idea me pareció intrigante y atractiva, y me gustó lo que podría llegar a ser. Todos hemos visto el mismo viejo apocalipsis basado en criaturas, pero este cómic lo llevó a un nivel diferente, donde la amenaza es obvia para el mundo desde el primer momento.

Me gustó cómo Ange y Patrick Renault desarrollaron el guión capítulo tras capítulo, cómo los personajes mostraron su lado más humano y animal al mismo tiempo, tratando de mantenerse fieles a sus lazos pero también entendiendo que es una cuestión de vida o muerte, que a veces lo correcto no es lo más fácil de hacer. Hubo un poco de cliché heroico al final que me sacó de la lectura, pero un giro de trama agradable e ingenioso salvó el día.

También soy fanático del arte de Charlie Adlard y Sébastien Gérard después de este cómic. Admito que nunca me ha interesado The Walking Death, así que esta fue la primera vez que disfruté de su talento. ¡Fue un viaje salvaje, colorido pero también sanguinario! Te muestran totalmente lo peor y lo mejor y luego lo peor otra vez de estar en una situación tan claustrofóbica. Contuve el aliento más de una vez, ansioso por ver qué pasaría, y luego me quedé boquiabierto ante lo gráfica que sería la historia. No hay tanta sangre y vísceras, ¡pero las usan demasiado bien!

El final también fue un poco apresurado para mi gusto, y me hubiera gustado un poco más de trasfondo e información sobre los vampiros, ya que perdieron importancia bastante rápido, pero de todos modos disfruté de Vampire State Building. Puede haber habido un poco de romance, pero no es nada tan importante para la trama. La galería de portadas y los diseños de personajes al final también fueron una buena adición, ¡y me gustaron especialmente las portadas de parodia! Un cómic que realmente quieres leer si te gustan los vampiros, la sangre y la sensación de estar atrapado.

Although the beginning was a bit rushed to my taste, leaving me feeling lost and confused for a bit, the pieces fall where they belong to and it becomes obvious you’re about to see madness at its fullest and the rawest side of human nature: survival. I found the idea intriguing and appealing, and liked what it could become. We’ve all seen the same old creature-based apocalypse, but this comic took it to a different level, where the threat is obvious to the world since the first moment.

I liked how Ange and Patrick Renault developed the script chapter after chapter, how the characters showed their most human and animal sides at the same time, trying to stay true to their bonds but also understanding it’s a matter of life and death, that sometimes doing what’s right is not the easiest thing to do. There was a bit of a heroic cliché at the end that took me out of the reading, but a nice, clever plot twist that’s saved the day.

I’m also a fan or Charlie Adlard’s and Sébastien Gérard’s art after this comic. I admit I’ve never been interested in The Walking Death, so this was my first time enjoying the talent. It was a wild, colorful yet gruesome ride! They totally show you the worst and the best and then the worst again of being in such a claustrophobic situation. I was holding my breath more than once, anxious to see what will happen, and then I’d gasp at how graphic the story would become. There's not that much gore and guts, but they use them way too well!

The ending was a bit rushed for me taste as well, and I would have liked a bit more background and information about the vampires, since they lost importance rather quickly, but I enjoyed Vampire State Building nonetheless. There may have been a bit of romance, but it’s nothing that important for the plot. The cover gallery and characters designs at the end were a nice addition as well, and I particularly liked the parody covers! A comic you really want to read if you like vampires, blood and the feeling of being trapped.

¿Blancanieves y Rosaroja? / Snow-White and Rose-Red?

¡Buen día, nocturnos! Espero que estén muy bien. ¿Recuerdan cuando les comenté sobre unas tales Blanca Nieves y Rosa Roja? Disney sigue preparando ese live action y estoy muy ansioso por ver cómo será. Solo para evitar confusiones, les recuerdo que la historia no tiene nada que ver con Blancanieves y los Siete Enanitos.

La historia es bastante corta, pero preciosa, llena de muchas enseñanzas y con una dosis ligera de fantasía. Es más bien un cuento sobre los valores y la hermandad, bastante bonito y que podría convertirse en una increíble película considerando que Rosa es mucho más aventurera que Blanca.

Ambas niñas viven con su madre en el bosque, una vieja viuda que las ha criado para que sean buenas y bondadosas en todo momento, y que la ayudan en todo lo que pueden. Aunque Blanca es más tranquila y prefiere estar en casa, Rosa es más aventurera, más intrépida, pero las une un lazo irrompible de amor incondicional de una por la otra, y juran siempre compartirlo todo entre las dos.

Un día, un oso pide que le den refugio para pasar la noche, y las niñas se vuelven rápidamente sus amigas, hasta que este les dice que debe estar lejos un tiempo cuidando su tesoro de los enanos. El oso se va, pero Blanca ve algo brillante debajo de su pelaje cuando se despide. No le presta atención y el verano va pasando.

Durante esos meses, las hermanas se encuentran con un enano en problemas. quien se mantiene grosero y altanero a pesar de que lo ayudan desinteresadamente. Primero es cortando su barba atascada bajo un árbol, luego cortándola de nuevo de la caña de pescar para que no se lo lleve el río, y finalmente estropeando su ropa al espantar un ave que se lo quería llevar.

Luego del tercer encuentro, un oso aparece y el enano le pide que se coma a las niñas y no a él, pues es pequeño y no lo sentiría entre sus dientes. El oso resulta ser el amigo de las hermanas, mata a enano de un zarpazo y se convierte en un príncipe vestido en oro. Este les cuenta que el enano lo había convertido en oso para tomar sus joyas, y que matándolo se rompió el encanto. Blanca Nieves termina casándose con el príncipe, Rosa Roja con su hermano, y la madre vivió tranquilamente en el palacio hasta sus últimos días.

Bonito, ¿no? Les sugiero leer la historia original, que es mucho más encantadora que esta versión despedazada. ^^' ¿Qué es lo que me gusta tanto? Que es una historia sin el famoso beso de amor verdadero. Blanca y Rosa son poderosas por su hermandad, son independientes, son valientes, y lo que hace una, la otra también. Combinado con la historia de Blancanieves, podríamos esperarnos una aventura épica llena de peleas, porque con dos hermanas tan unidas es fácil imaginar lo devastada que quedará Rosa y lo poco que le va a importar el amor. Aquí no se trata de romance, sino de hermandad.

Disney ya hizo tres películas sobre hermanas, primero con Lilo y Stitch, seguida por las dos de Frozen, y el tema del oso fue muy poderoso en Valiente. Aquí podríamos ver una historia que lo junte todo, aunque viniendo de la casa del ratón es difícil estar seguros. Mientras esperamos más noticias, les dejo una canción que me encanta y que está basada en el cuento. ^^ Recuerden dejarme sus comentarios al respecto y que hoy hay un nuevo capítulo de Alterno Nerva en Wattpad. ¡Se les quiere!

Disney is still preparing that live action and I am very anxious to see how it will be. Just to avoid confusion, I remind you that the story has nothing to do with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The story is quite short, but beautiful, full of many teachings and with a light dose of fantasy. It's rather a story about values ​​and sisterhood, really beautiful and that could be turned into a great movie considering that Rose is much more adventurous than Snow.

Both girls live with their mother in the forest, an old widow who has raised them to be good and kind at all times, and who help her in any way they can. Although Snow is calmer and prefers to be at home, Rose is more adventurous, more intrepid, but they are united by an unbreakable bond of unconditional love for each other, and they always swear to share everything between the two.

During those months, the sisters encounter a troubled dwarf. who remains rude and haughty despite they selflessly helping him. First it is cutting his beard stuck under a tree, then cutting it again from the fishing rod so that the river does not take him away, and finally spoiling his clothes by scaring away a bird that wanted to take him away.

After the third encounter, a bear appears and the dwarf asks him to eat the girls and not him, since he's small and would not feel him between his teeth. The bear turns out to be the sisters' friend, kills the dwarf with a claw and turns into a prince dressed in gold. He tells them that the dwarf had turned him into a bear to take his jewels, and that by killing him the spell was broken. Snow White ends up marrying the prince, Red Rose his brother, and the mother lived quietly in the palace until her last days.

Nice, isn't it? I suggest reading the original story, which is much more charming than this shattered version. ^^' What do I like so much about it? That it's a story without the famous kiss of true love. Snow and Rose are powerful because of their sisterhood, they are independent, they are brave, and what one does, the other also. Combined with the story of Snow White, we could expect an epic adventure full of fights, because with two sisters so close together it's easy to imagine how devastated Rose will be and how little love's going to matter to her. It is not about romance here, but about sisterhood.

Disney has already made three movies about sisters, first with Lilo and Stitch, followed by both of Frozen, and the bear theme was very powerful in Brave. Here we could see a story that brings it all together, although coming from the House of Mouse it's hard to be sure. The Odd Sisters es el libro más rápido de la saga, pero también el más saturado. Aparecen muchos personajes y hay demasiadas cosas pasando al mismo tiempo, y aunque no te pierdes leyendo, sí es un poco abrumador. Sin embargo, cuando retomas la lectura te devoras los capítulos en una sentada. Me encantan las brujas, nunca lo he negado, y este libro me avivó mi obsesión por ellas aún más.

Además, es el primer libro ilustrado, con imágenes preciosas que hacen que la lectura sea mucho más como una película. Me extrañó solo un poco la imagen de Blancanieves con las hermanas, porque se supone que el espejo estaba roto, y no pareciera estarlo en la ilustración. Es irónico, pero es mi imagen favorita de toda la novela. ^^' Solo una sugerencia: No vean los árboles genealógicos al inicio, pues podría hacerlos descubrir algo antes de tiempo.

Esta fue una lectura que me sorprendió muchas veces. Serena Valentino se destacó con The Odd Sisters. Fue una increíble historia de fantasía, llena de aventura, relaciones, sentimientos encontrados, prejuicio y sanación para los personajes. Con un elenco de primera clase, no es de sorprender que tenga tan buenas críticas. Queda solo un único misterio por develar, SPOILER si Manea es la madre de las hermanas, y la Circe que conocemos fue creada por magia como su hija, ¿de dónde salió la Circe original, la verdadera hermana de las brujas? FIN DEL SPOILER, pero la saga está lejos de terminar, con un libro recién salido del horno y dos más en camino.

The Odd Sisters is the fastest book in the series, but also the most saturated. A lot of characters appear and there are too many things happening at the same time, and although you don't get lost reading, it is a bit overwhelming. However, when you resume reading you devour the chapters in one sitting. I love witches, I have never denied it, and this book fueled my obsession with them even more.

In addition, it's the first illustrated book, with beautiful images that make reading much more like a movie. I was just a little surprised by the image of Snow White with the sisters, because the mirror was supposed to be broken, and it didn't appear to be in the illustration. It's ironic, but it is my favorite image of the whole novel. ^^' Just a suggestion: Don't look at family trees at the start, for it could make you discover something ahead of time.

This was a reading that surprised me many times. Serena Valentino outwrote herself with The Odd Sisters. It was an amazing fantasy story, full of adventure, relationships, mixed feelings, prejudice and healing for the characters. With a first-class cast, it's no surprise that it has such rave reviews. There is only a single mystery left to unravel, SPOILER if Manea is the mother of the sisters, and the Circe we know was created by magic as their daughter, where did the original Circe, the true sister of the witches, come from? END OF SPOILER, but the saga's far from over, with a book fresh from the oven and two more on the way.
