Pensando: Sobre Compañía / Thinking: About Company

Je, no, muchas gracias.

Pienso similar a Billie Joe Armstrong.

Good morning people. I hope you all are okay. A couple of days ago I participated in a Wattpad contest with a story that occurred to me in about... five minutes? Something like that. Company is a very, very short story, but one that left me thinking about many things, so I want to share them with you. Preferably read the story before stopping by to understand the references and avoid spoilers; I leave it above.

One can feel very lonely after the end of the world. Time does not heal corpses, but spirits do. Participant shortstory of the Ghost & Zombies challenge of the @Ghost profile: https://www.wattpad.com/882868653-contests-challenges-ghost-zombies-open

Having been bullied at school for 11 years, the entire primary and secondary school, affected for long my self-esteem, my self-respect and the way I thought and saw the world. It served to know myself more deeply, I won't deny it, realizing many things and maturing in others, it even put me on the road to becoming a witch (if they you didn't know it, hehe, surprise, although... really? I have a pentacle at the head of the blog,) which helped me to be who I am today, but there's still work to do.

Company is a dark fantasy story, and they certainly never (fortunately) urinated on me, nor the graphic parts that the nameless protagonist went through, but more or less this is how it feels to be constantly belittled. When I was thinking about it, I realized that during a large part of my adolescence I wanted to leave my body. Literally run away and go away, but I was tied up. Not precisely because of a silver thread, but because of many chains.

Today, there are several that I could break, some for which I wait for the right moment, and others that remain, although weakened. I have always wondered what will become of humanity when our time comes, and I think I reflected my point of view without realizing it in that story.

We come into this life innocently, and society teaches us our limits, our personality, imposes prejudices on us. The meat suit we wear doesn't seem to come with instructions, but it does come with quite precise rules: "To be a part of us, comply with the following ..." Heh, no, thank you very much.

I think similar to Billie Joe Armstrong. Although I don't believe we're all born bisexual in the strict sense of the word, I do believe that the society and family that raises us imposes on us views and taboos that make us "acceptable" and "correct". As I said, I have got rid of some, I am waiting for others, and some are still there.

I like to think that in death one is freer, more tolerant, more open, and more understanding. If the meat suit limits us, then not having it frees us. Some say that the soul is more noble by being separated from the body, others that it retains its way of thinking after dying, and I prefer to believe we realize the errors when dying.
