Buenos días, gente bonita. Espero que estén bien y con ganas de un poco de cine rápido. Se me ha vuelto tan complicado ver películas por ahora que decidí empezar a ver cortometrajes en YouTube, apoyar el talento independiente, y todo eso (jeje). Hoy les quiero hablar sobre uno que vi y me puso los pelos de punta: I Heard It Too, dirigido por Matt Sears y Tim Knight. Pueden verlo más abajo.

Basado en la historia de terror de dos oraciones: una niña escuchó a su madre gritar su nombre desde el piso de abajo, así que se levantó y comenzó a bajar. Cuando llegó a las escaleras, su madre la llevó a su habitación y dijo: "Yo también lo escuché".
Aunque corto, I Heard It Too es un trabajo muy efectivo y tiene un excelente guión. Trabajar con niños nunca es fácil, pero este corto lo hizo de una manera excelente, aparenetemente muy responsable, y cuando crees que ya sabes qué es lo que se avecina, las cosas cambian de manera drásctica. Solo voy a decir que los comentarios son mortales, te partes de la risa, y son super honestos con respecto a la originalidad de esta historia.
Los colores y el sonido no fueron de lo más resaltante, por más bien acabados que se encuentren. La edición sí me sorprendió viniendo de directores independientes como Matt Sears y Tim Knight, no por ser de baja calidad sino todo lo contraria. No tiene nada que envidiarle a otras películas si nos ponemos a comparar. Además, fue un toque que sirvió como broche de oro.
El guión crea un contraste interesante entre el inicio y el final, acentuando mucho más los giros inesperados en tan poco tiempo. I Heard It Too sorprende no una ni dos, sino tres veces, más que todo porque rompe las reglas del cine de monstruos, crea un atmósfera inquietante, y le da protagonismo a la niña cuando llega el momento adecuado. Te paraliza de miedo en segundos.

Based on the two sentence horror story: A girl heard her mom yell her name from downstairs, so she got up and started to head down. As she got to the stairs, her mom pulled her into her room and said "I heard that, too."
Although short, I Heard It Too is a very effective work and has an excellent script. Working with children is never easy, but this short did it in an excellent way, apparently very responsible, and when you think you already know what is coming, things change dramatically. I'm just going to say that the comments are deadly, you laugh a lot, and they're super honest about the originality of this story.
The colors and the sound were not the most outstanding, no matter how well finished they are. The editing did surprise me coming from independent directors like Matt Sears and Tim Knight, not for being of low quality but on the contrary. It has nothing to envy other films if we start to compare. In addition, it was a touch that served as gold to end,
The script creates an interesting contrast between the beginning and the end, further accentuating the unexpected twists in such a short amount of time. I Heard It Too surprises not once, not twice, but three times, mostly because it breaks the rules of monster cinema, creates a haunting atmosphere, and gives the girl the limelight when the right time comes. It paralyzes you with fear in seconds.
