Manga: The Hunters Guild: Red Hood, Chapter 5

Feliz inicio de semana, Nocturnos. ^^ ¿Cómo estuvo ese fin de semana? Yo estoy super feliz disfrutando de mis libros por Dacre Stoker, el heredero del imperio de Drácula, y leyendo más que antes. Hoy les cuento mi opinión sobre el quinto capítulo de The Hunters Guild: Red Hood, de Yuki Kawaguchi. ¡Recuerden que pueden leerlo gratis (por ahora) en la web de VIZ Media!

En contraste con el capítulo anterior, Smoke Signal nos muestra el lado vulnerable de Velou, lo vemos en su rol de víctima por los límites con los que debe lidiar. Es la otra cara de la moneda con respecto a lo que Yuki Kawaguchi nos mostró la semana pasada. 

Solo tengo dos quejas en esta ocasiones, y muy puntuales: un diálogo que no fue traducido en lo absoluto sino que permaneció con la escritura en japonés, y otro en donde nos presentaron a un personaje de la manera más poco natural posible. Ambas cosas me sacaron de la lectura en el acto. 

Traspiesos dejados de lado, The Hunters Guild: Red Hood mantiene un inicio bastante sólido y le da una motivación más que suficiente a su protagonista para volverse más fuerte. Me cuesta identificarme con los chicos en mangas shonen, pero Velou es diferente, parece un personaje más humano que aspira a lograr grandes cosas, y Yuki Kawaguchi está sabiendo trabajar su desarrollo muy bien.

In contrast to the previous chapter, Smoke Signal shows us Velou's vulnerable side, we see him in his role as a victim because of the limits he must deal with. It's the other side of the coin from what Yuki Kawaguchi showed us last week.

I only have two complaints on this occasion, and very specific: a dialogue that was not translated at all but remained with the Japanese writing, and another where we were introduced to a character in the most unnatural way possible. Both things got me out of reading on the spot.

Stumblings aside, The Hunters Guild: Red Hood is off to a pretty solid start and gives its protagonist more than enough motivation to grow stronger. It's difficult for me to identify with the guys in shonen manga, but Velou is different, he seems a more human character who aspires to achieve great things, and Yuki Kawaguchi is working on developing him very well.
