Cómic: Basilisk #7

Buenos días, Nocturnos. ¿Cómo va su semana? Yo sigo leyendo, viviendo en mi mundo, y escapándome a otros de a ratos. Hoy vengo con la reseña de Basilisk #7, porque sigo adicto, sigo sorprendiéndome de este mundo, del cinismo, y lo cruel que se está volviendo conforme avanza la historia. Sencillamente increíble. ¡Gracias a la editorial por enviarme una copia a cambio de una reseña honesta!

Con su auto destrozado, Hannah está desconsolada después de experimentar flashbacks traumáticos y huyendo de Jimmy-Boy, quien está peligrosamente cerca de acabar con ella. Vanessa obtiene un poder inesperado, pero quiere más, e incluso está dispuesta a matar a sus allegados para conseguirlo...

Esta es una lectura mucho más interesante que el número anterior porque hay más contenido en cuanto a acciones, sucesos, vemos más del pasado de Hannah, y aunque algo apresurado, queda entrevisto cómo podrían funcionar los poderes de los Quimera. Se trata de un capítulo que te permite asumir algunas cosas pero sin dar respuestas definitivas.

Lo mejor fueron los elementos de horror psicológico, el giro que dio la trama, además de la acción fría, calculadora, de Vanessa. Es obvio que el final podría estarse acercando, pero este equipo está tomándose el tiempo de disfrutarlo y dejar que esto se note en su trabajo. Como lector, escapar a este mundo cruel fue demasiado placentero a pesar de que Basilisk #7 me tuvo al borde de la silla ansioso por saber qué iba a pasar.

Aunque es un número igual de breve que el anterior, se siente un poco más extenso porque hay más contenido en él. Aún quedan muchas preguntas sin responder y sí me pone un poco nervioso ver que podría quedar poco tiempo/espacio para darles la atención que merecen, pero ya eso es un gusto personal: no soy amante de reservar todo el misterio hasta el final.

En general, Basilisk #7 es mejor que su predecesor sin establecer grandes expectativas para el final, pero sí prometiendo algo interesante por venir. Más crudos, crueles, y cínicos que nunca, los hombres detrás de este proyecto no dejan de sorprender con cada página bien cuidada y un ritmo trepidante que te vuelve adicto a la lectura.

Today I come with the review of Basilisk #7, because I'm still addicted, I'm still surprised by this world, the cynicism, and how cruel it's becoming as the story progresses. Simply amazing. Thanks to the publisher for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review!

With her car wrecked, Hannah is inconsolable after experiencing traumatic flashbacks, and on the run from Jimmy-Boy, who is dangerously close to ending her. Vanessa obtains unexpected power, but wants more, and is even willing to kill those close to her to get it...

This is a much more interesting reading than the previous issue because there's more content in terms of actions, events, we see more of Hannah's past, and although somewhat rushed, it is glimpsed how the Chimera's powers could work. This is a chapter that allows you to assume some things but without giving definitive answers.

The best part was the psychological horror elements, the plot twist, plus Vanessa's cold, calculating action. It's obvious that the end could be drawing near, but this team is taking the time to enjoy it and let it show in their work. As a reader, escaping to this cruel world was all too pleasurable even though Basilisk #7 had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.

Although it's just as short an issue as the previous one, it feels a bit longer because there's more content in it. There are still many unanswered questions and it does make me a little nervous to see that there could be little time/space left to give them the attention they deserve, but that's a personal taste: I'm not a lover of reserving all the mystery until the end.

Overall, Basilisk #7 is better than its predecessor without setting high expectations for the ending, but promising something interesting to come. Crude, cruel, and cynical than ever, the men behind this project never cease to amaze with each well-kept page and a frenetic pace that makes you addicted to reading.
