Estuve estos días leyendo un manga que me puso la piel de gallina, una saga sobre hermandad, guerra, y fantasía en un Japón que aún se moderniza. Es una lectura que te transporta en el tiempo y de la que ya he hablado antes: Laughing Under the Clouds Vol. 3, por KarakaraKemuri. ¡Gracias a la editorial por enviarme una copia a cambio de una reseña honesta!

La búsqueda de Soramaru para hacerse más fuerte lo lleva al líder de Yamainu, Abe no Sousei. Sousei propone un trueque: formación a cambio de información. En busca de la información requerida, Soramaru se disfraza y, con la ayuda del hermano menor Chutaro, se infiltra en la misma prisión a la que ha llevado a tantos criminales: Gokumonjo. Pero nada es tan fácil como parece, y aunque Soramaru encuentra la información que necesita para hacer un trato, el hermano mayor de los Kumo, Tenka, de repente se encuentra bajo arresto y en una situación desesperada...
Este volumen va un poco más hondo en la relación de los hermanos Kumo, la dinámica que domina su relación, junto con las primeras señales de que todo está por cambiar. Cada uno de los hermanos busca la independencia de maneras distintas, siendo Chutaro el que queda un poco a la sombra. Hay varias escenas que nos muestran un lado nuevo de cada uno, dejando ver lo que cada Kumo piensa hacer.
El guión es bastante fácil de seguir, y la lectura se mantiene interesante en todo momento. No hay tanta acción como uno esperaría en primer momento, pero el drama y las emociones se mantienen a flor de piel, todo acompañado de un arte que no deja de sorprender página tras página.
No puedo quejarme mucho más allá de algunas escenas que me parecieron algo forzadas o sin mucho sentido, quizás incluso de el arte en algunas partes, aunque en su gran mayoría fue excelente. Por más cómicos que fuesen, hubo detalles que no me convencieron del todo y que hubiese preferido fueran diferentes en ejecución o presentación.
En líneas generales, Laughing Under the Clouds Vol. 3 es un manga que se disfruta sin problemas. KarakaraKemuri tuvo buena mano, especialmente al final, cuando todo se vuelve tan desastroso que no puedes evitar sentir un vacío en el pecho. Lo dije al inicio y lo digo al final, las emociones están a flor de piel en este volumen.

Soramaru's quest to grow stronger brings him to the leader of the Yamainu, Abe no Sousei. Sousei proposes a trade: training in exchange for information. In search of the information required, Soramaru disguises himself and — with the help of youngest brother Chutaro — infiltrates the very prison he's taken so many criminals to: Gokumonjo. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems, and although Soramaru finds the information he needs to make a deal, eldest Kumo brother Tenka suddenly finds himself under arrest and in dire straits...
This volume goes a little deeper into the Kumo brothers' relationship, the dynamic that dominates their relationship, along with the first signs that everything is about to change. Each of the brothers seeks independence in different ways, with Chutaro being the one left a bit in the shade. There are several scenes that show us a new side of each one, letting us see what each Kumo intends to do.
The script is quite easy to follow, and the reading is kept interesting throughout. There's not as much action as one would expect at first, but the drama and emotions are running high, all accompanied by an art that never ceases to amaze page after page.
I can't complain much beyond some scenes that seemed a bit forced or pointless, maybe even the art in some parts, although for the most part it was excellent. As funny as they were, there were details that didn't completely convince me and that I would have preferred to be different in execution or presentation.
In general, Laughing Under the Clouds Vol. 3 is a manga that can be enjoyed without problems. KarakaraKemuri had a good hand, especially at the end, when everything becomes so disastrous that you can't help but feel an emptiness in your chest. I said it at the beginning and I say it at the end, emotions are running high in this volume.
