¡Bueeeeen díaaaaa, gente! Se acaba de estrenar el nuevo video de Lady Gaga, 911, ¡que resulta ser un cortometraje! Han pasado años desde que hizo algo así, desde G.U.Y. (2014), Til It Happens to You (2015), o la trilogía de Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons y John Wayne (2016-2017), dependiendo de cómo prefieran verlo. Tengo tantas cosas que decir sobre esta hermosura de video, así que vamos con ello. También lo pueden ver más abajo.
El video es prácticamente un homenaje a la carrera de Gaga, desde el lazo de cabello que muestra al principio, simbolizando sus inicios con The Fame, el cabello turquesa que usó tantas veces durante la era de Born This Way, las esferas y el color azul que usó en Artpop, las granadas, un símbolo de muerte, como si simbolizaran la era de The Fame Monster, incluso con alusiones a sencillos como G.U.Y. con la secuencia del inicio, Marry The Night (otro cortometraje, jeje) con el traje del final, el caballo de John Wayne, y la escena final que recuerda tanto las tomas con Taylor Kinney en Yoü and I junto con la estética de Judas. Incluso tenemos ecos de otras canciones, como en G.U.Y. Si me preguntan, es una secuela espiritual de MTN, mostrando los peligros de las enfermedades mentales y cómo la fama puede empeorarlas si no son tratadas a tiempo.
En pocas palabras, es una obra de arte que rinde homenaje a muchos de los momentos clave en la carrera de Gaga, aunque de seguro estoy pasando por alto varias referencias, pero el video tampoco es sencillo. No voy a entrar en el simbolismo del propio video y las referencias a sí mismo, sino que diré que es con facilidad uno de los trabajos más macabros en su carrera hasta ahora. Uno se da cuenta de que es una batalla entre la vida y la muerte luego de verlo varias veces.
El nivel de detalle es increíble, la producción es impecable, y el hecho de que haya sido grabado en agosto, durante esta pandemia, y que nadie haya sido infectado lo hace aún más digno de honores. ¿Es que alguien esperaba algo menos viniendo de Gaga? Justo ahora, lo que haría falta es un cuarto sencillo con Sine From Above, lo cual es poco probable, si me preguntan. Es una canción que va muy de la mano con 1000 Doves, que a su vez va con Babylon. Sería tener seis sencillos en un mismo disco, cuando el máximo de Gaga ha sido de cinco, primero con The Fame y luego con Born This Way. Por más que Chromatica sea mi disco favorito y el de mucho monsters más, dudo que esto vuelva a pasar, más aún con estas condiciones (a menos a que sean video animados, jeje).

The video's practically a tribute to Gaga's career, from the hair bow she shows at the beginning, symbolizing her beginnings with The Fame, the turquoise hair she wore so many times during the Born This Way era, the spheres and the color blue. that she used in Artpop, the pomegranates, a symbol of death, as if they symbolized the The Fame Monster era, even with allusions to singles like G.U.Y. with the opening sequence, Marry The Night (another short film, hehe) with the final costume, John Wayne's horse, and the final scene that recalls both the shots with Taylor Kinney in Yoü and I along with the Judas aesthetic. We even have echoes of other songs, like in G.U.Y. If you ask me, this is a spiritual sequel to MTN, showing the dangers of mental illness and how fame can make it worse if not treated in time.
Simply put, it is a work of art that pays tribute to many of the key moments in Gaga's career, although I am certainly overlooking several references, but the video is not easy either. I'm not going to go into the symbolism of the video itself and the references to itself, but will say that it's easily one of the most ghoulish jobs in her career thus far. One realizes that it's a battle between life and death after seeing it several times.
The level of detail is incredible, the production is impeccable, and the fact that it was recorded in August, during this pandemic, and that no one was infected makes it even more worthy of honor. Did anyone expect something less coming from Gaga? Right now, what there should come is a fourth single with Sine From Above, which is unlikely, if you ask me. It's a song that goes very hand in hand with 1000 Doves, which in turn goes with Babylon. It would be to make having six singles on the same album, when Gaga's maximum has been five, first with The Fame and then with Born This Way. As much as Chromatica is my favorite album and many more monsters', I doubt that this will happen again, even more so with these conditions (unless they are animated video, hehe).
