¡Buenos días, gente! Hoy me llevé otra sorpresa cuando abrí YouTube, ¡y es que Motionless In White tiene una canción nueva! Se trata de Somebody Told Me, un cover de The Killers, quizás una de las más emblemáticas de la banda. Como era de esperarse, ¡no dejo de escucharla!

Al igual que su más reciente EP, la pista está producida por Justin Deblieck, manteniendo el ritmo animado y hasta divertido de la versión original. Chris contó en su Twitter que tanto él como la banda querían hacer un cover de esta canción desde hace años, ya que suelen hacer covers en sus conciertos, y que fue en el Graveyard Shift Tour que decidieron que era momento de trabajar en esta.

Esta versión se aleja bastante del estilo que ha mantenido MIW, pero tiene su huella. Además, es buenísimo ver que exploran más ritmos, más tipos de música y sonidos. Siendo tan fiel a la pista original, MIW les rinde un bien merecido homenaje a The Killers, sin mencionar que muchos fans estamos asombrados de que la voz de Chris suene cada vez mejor. En serio, ¿qué toma este hombre? ¡Yo también quiero de eso!

A este punto sería difícil y hasta inútil tratar de predecir qué hará Motionless In White, pero con un EP orquestal y un cover de rock tenemos las expectativas cada vez más altas con respecto a su proximo material original. Disguise, su álbum más reciente, salió el año pasado y con un sonido increible. Añadiendo estos dos lanzamientos adicionales a su discografía, es obvio que podemos esperar un regreso triunfal tan pronto como sea el momento adecuado. Good morning people! Today I had another surprise when I opened YouTube, and that is that Motionless In White has a new song! This is Somebody Told Me, a The Killers cover, perhaps one of the most emblematics of the band. As expected, I keep listening to her!

Like their most recent EP, the track is produced by Justin Deblieck, keeping the lively and even fun rhythm of the original version. Chris said on his Twitter that both he and the band had wanted to cover this song for years, since they usually do covers at their concerts, and that it was on the Graveyard Shift Tour that they decided it was time to work on this one.

This version is quite a departure from the style that MIW has maintained, but it has its mark. Also, it's great to see that they explore more rhythms, more types of music and sounds. Being so true to the original track, MIW pays a well deserved tribute to The Killers, not to mention that many fans are in awe that Chris' voice is sounding better and better. Seriously, what is this man taking? I want that too!

At this point it would be difficult and even useless to try to predict what Motionless In White will do, but with an orchestral EP and a rock cover we have higher and higher expectations regarding their next original material. Disguise, their most recent album, came out last year and with an incredible sound. Adding these two additional releases to their discography, it's obvious that we can look forward to a triumphant return as soon as the time is right.
