Comic: Human

¡Holas, holas! ¿Cómo marcha todo? Yo últimamente me despierto de madrugada, y estoy aprovechando este tiempo para leer y escribir tanto como quiera. Es hasta romántico levantar la vista y ver que el cielo cambia de color (ya me puse cursi).

Hace poco tuve oportunidad de leer un cómic que me hizo preguntarme muchas cosas. La naturaleza del humano es un tema incómodo sobre el que reflexionar, más aún cuando una historia como Human, escrito por Diego Agrimbau y con arte de Lucas Varela, es el catalizador.

Unos robots despiertan en medio de la nada, en un planeta tierra libre de humanos, en donde nada es lo que parece y en el que nadie recuerda nada, salvo que deben cumplir alguna misión. Esta Tierra es más hostil y salvaje, ¿pero realmente están extintos los humanos?

Combinando la ciencia ficción y el horror, Human es un cómic que te hace replantearte la naturaleza del ser humano, de su relación con el planeta y el final hacia el que nos dirigimos. Es una lectura incómoda cuando te paras a pensar al respecto, pero no por ello es mala.

Diego Agrimbau hizo una maravilla de guión y de historia. La trama es sencilla, pero los detalles, las escenas sencillas, llevan mensajes inquietantes. Los humanos nos llenamos la boca diciendo que somos la especie dominante y que hemos evolucionado, pero Human nos muestra la realidad.

Debo admitir que no soy fanático del arte de Lucas Varela por cuestiones de estilo. Si bien el contraste entre la estética de caricatura con la trama filosófica funciona, y los colores le dan un aire más interesante al cómic, hay algo en su forma de trabajar que no me convenció del todo, aunque no sabría decir qué fue.

Fue una lectura muy entretenida y esclarecedora, aunque incómoda, como ya dije. No hubo nada que no hubiese pensado antes, pero verlo reflejado con tan poca censura me incomodó, lo cual hace que me encante aún más. ¡Gracias a Europe Comic por el ejemplar!

I recently had the opportunity to read a comic that made me wonder many things. The human nature is an uncomfortable subject to reflect on, especially when a story like Human, written by Diego Agrimbau and with art by Lucas Varela, is the catalyst.

Some robots wake up in the middle of nowhere, on planet Earth free of humans, where nothing is what it seems and in which nobody remembers anything, except that they must fulfill some mission. This Earth is more hostile and wild, but are humans really extinct?

Combining science fiction and horror, Human is a comic that makes you rethink the nature of the human being, of its relationship with the planet and the end towards which we are heading. It's an awkward reading when you stop to think about it, but it's not bad because of it.

Diego Agrimbau did a wonder of a script and story. The plot's simple, but the details, the simple scenes, carry disturbing messages. We humans fill our mouths saying that we're the dominant species and that we have evolved, but Human shows us reality.

I must admit that I'm not a fan of Lucas Varela's art because of style issues. While the contrast between the cartoon aesthetic with the philosophical plot works and the colors give a more interesting air to the comic, there's something in his way of working that didn't convince me at all, although I wouldn't know what it was.

It was a very entertaining and enlightening reading, although uncomfortable, as I said. There was nothing I hadn't thought about before, but seeing it reflected with such little censorship bothered me, which makes me love it even more. Thanks to Europe Comics for the copy!
