Los mensajes ocultos en Blanca Nieves / The hidden messages in Snow White

¡Buenas buenas, Nocturnos! ¿Qué tal les va? Yo sigo leyendo y pensando en muchas cosas, y espero que ustedes también. Luego de conocer la verdadera Blanca Nieves, y no la que nos vendió Disney, hoy quiero contarles qué simbolismos y mensajes ocultos veo en su historia. Intentaré ser breve, pero no prometo nada.

Primero que nada, tenemos el tema de madre de Blanca Nieves. Siempre me pareció curioso el tema de la sangre, y ahora que lo pienso bien, bien podría haber sido una ofrenda o sacrificio para tener la hija perfecta, la hija de sus sueños. Esto puede significar que ella también era una bruja. Sin embargo, todos tiene un precio: una vida por otra, según plantea el cuento. Dar para recibir.

Los colores tienen un papel importante en toda la trama. El rojo es el color de la vida, del poder, mientras que el blanco es tanto la pureza como el vacío, y el negro se queda de lado en comparación. Ya que la sangre es roja, es vida, tiene el poder de darla, en el caso de las gotas de la reina, y quitarla, como en la mitad envenenada de la manzana.

Lo que más me intriga es que Blanca Nieves, al ser pura, no ve el peligro en las supuestas tres campesinas que se le aparecen, y justamente son sus regalos los que me ponen pensativo. Primero tenemos las cintas, que le quitan su voz, y luego el peine, que la inutiliza. En ambos casos, es la vanidad la que acaba con la princesa, la posibilidad de ser más hermosa.

La reina vuelve a atacar su voz por medio de la manzana, esta vez usando el color rojo para arrancarle la vida. Pareciera que el tema de la voz es una metáfora sobre la identidad y la seguridad personal, lo cual tiene mucho sentido, pues es justamente la conducta del abusador: oprimir al débil, dejarlo inutilizado, para que se haga su voluntad. Aquí meto un poco de espiritualidad y les cuento que justamente el chakra de la garganta, un centro energético según el Hinduísmo, es el que rige la personalidad, la seguridad y la autoestima. ¿Interesante, no creen?

Finalmente, está el elemento del fuego, o mejor dicho, los zapatos de hierro. Según el folklore, el hierro es un material nocivo para los seres feéricos, mejor conocidos como "hadas" (no digan esa palabra, es una falta de respeto según las leyendas; uno nunca sabe). Esto me hace pensar que la reina no fue humana tan siquiera, sino otra clase de criatura.

Si me preguntan, parece que el cuento es una metáfora muy visual sobre los peligros delos deseos y que a veces estos no se cumplen de la manera en que esperamos. A pesar de que el bien triunfa sobre el mal, no sucede sin muchas tribulaciones, además de que Blanca Nieves no es tan inocente al permitir la muerte de su madre o madrastra, dependiendo de la versión que leamo. Esto me recuerda a la filosofía del Taoísmo: Hay algo bueno en cada cosa mala, y algo malo en cada cosa buen.

After meeting the real Snow White, and not the one that Disney sold us, today I want to tell you what symbolism and hidden messages I see in its story. I'll try to be brief, but I promise nothing.

First of all, we have the subject of Snow White's mother. I always found the subject of blood curious, and now that I think about it, it could well have been an offering or sacrifice to have the perfect daughter, the daughter of her dreams. This may mean that she was also a witch. However, everything has a price: one life for another, according to the story. Give to receive.

Colors play an important role throughout the plot. Red is the color of life, of power, while white is both purity and emptiness, and black is left aside in comparison. Since blood is red, it is life, it has the power to give it, in the case of the queen's drops, and to remove it, as in the poisoned half of the apple.

What intrigues me the most is that Snow White, being pure, doesn't see danger in the supposed three peasant women who appear to her, and it's precisely their gifts that make me thoughtful. First we have the neckbands, which take away her voice, and then the comb, which renders her useless. In both cases, it is vanity that ends the princess, the possibility of being more beautiful.

The queen attacks her voice again through the apple, this time using the color red to rip her life away. It seems that the theme of the voice is a metaphor about identity and personal security, which makes a lot of sense, since it is precisely the abuser's behavior: oppress the weak, leave them useless, so that their will is done. Here I add a little spirituality and I tell you that it's precisely the throat chakra, an energy center according to Hinduism, that governs personality, security and self-esteem. Interesting, don't you think?

Finally, there is the element of fire, or rather, the iron shoes. According to folklore, iron is a harmful material for faerie beings, better known as "fairies" (do not say that word, it is a lack of respect according to legends; one never knows). This makes me think that the queen was not even human, but another kind of creature.

If you ask me, it seems that the story is a very visual metaphor about the dangers of wishes and that sometimes these are not fulfilled in the way we expect. Despite the fact that good triumphs over evil, it doesn't happen without many tribulations, in addition to the fact that Snow White is not so innocent in allowing the death of her mother or stepmother, depending on the version you read. This reminds me of the philosophy of Taoism: There is something good in every bad thing, and something bad in every good thing.
