Thinking: Body Modifications / Pensando: Modificaciones Corporales

Hi guys! How are you doing? I had long time no write these types of entries, and as it's far away to the literary topics I usually use, let's think it can serve for those who are not immersed in the subject and want to use it for a story, as I occasionally do, and so you'll also get to know me a little more.
¡Hola chicos! ¿Cómo les va? Tenía tiempo sin escribir este tipo de entradas, y como es muy alejado a los tópicos literarios que suelo usar, vamos a pensar que puede servir para aquellos que no estén muy inmersos en el tema y lo quieran usar para alguna historia, como suelo hacer yo de vez en cuando, y así además me conocen un poco más.

I consider myself eccentric in more than one sense, and one of the reasons I have is my attraction toward body modification in general. Some time ago I read a book of tattoos and its symbolism, from the color and shape to the place where they were located, and I assure you if I ever see something similar in bookstores I won't think twice before buying it.

Me considero excéntrico en más de un sentido, y una de las razones que tengo es por la atracción que tengo por las modificaciones corporales en general. Tiempo atrás leí un libro de tatuajes y su simbolismo, desde el color y la figura hasta el lugar en donde estaban ubicadas, y les aseguro de ver alguno similar en las librerías no me lo pienso dos veces antes de comprarlo.

Modifications are almost always linked to rites of passage in ancient cultures, especially the three most popular today: Piercings, tattoos and scarifications. I think the images speak for themselves, so it's not worth explaining what they're about, but just in case, Wikipedia knows.
Casi siempre las modificaciones vienen ligadas a ritos de paso en antiguas culturas, especialmente las tres más de moda actualmente: Los piercings, tatuajes y escarificaciones. Creo que las imágenes hablan por sí solas, así que no vale la pena explicar de qué se tratan, pero por si acaso, Wikipedia lo sabe.
And well, since we're already here, I'll tell you which are the modifications that interest me the most ^^

Among the piercings, I especially attracts the septum, the ring that many get in the middle of the nose. There are other places I would try, as the tongue or ear, but the septum is the only one that leaves no visible scars and is easy to hide, so I will not get more than that.
Entre los piercings, me atrae especialmente el septum, ese aro que muchos se ponen en el medio de la nariz. Hay otros lugares que me gustaría probar, como la lengua o la oreja, pero el septum es el único que no deja cicatrices visibles y es fácil de ocultar, así que no pienso llegar a más de eso.

I do have several tattoos in mind, seven or eight, depending on how much pain tolerance have. I think me some mythological creatures, like the phoenix, for its symbolism and personal meaning, and all in places that are easy to cover: chest, shoulders, arms, etc.
Sí tengo varios tatuajes en mente, unos siete u ocho, dependiendo de cuánta tolerancia al dolor tenga. Pienso hacerme algunas criaturas mitológicas, como el fénix, por su simbolismo y significado personal, y todas en lugares que sean fáciles de cubrir: pecho, hombros, brazos, etc.
I'm also toying with the idea of one that glows in the dark. I'm not sure what's the effect on the skin long term, but you can't deny it is very striking!
También estoy dándole vueltas a la idea de uno que brille en la oscuridad. No estoy seguro de cómo será el efecto en la piel a largo plazo, ¡pero no pueden negar que es muy llamativo!

Scarification would be my last choice. I will not do nothing big, but a simple design when I feel it's the right time. Maybe it will be some alchemical symbol, but seeing those wings... tempting!
Las escarificaciones serían mi última opción. No pienso hacerme nada llamativo, sino algún diseño sencillo cuando sienta que es el momento adecuado. A lo mejor sería algún símbolo alquímico, aunque viendo esas alas... ¡tendador!
Now, there are some modifications I do think are TOO extreme, of which I would only consider one as an option after investigating a little more.
Ahora, hay algunas modificaciones que sí me parecen MUY extremas, de las cuales solo una la consideraría una opción luego de investigar bien al respecto.

Forked tongue? Really? I cannot say that the idea doesn't tempt me, because it really does, but I see it very little convenient, plus, I don't want to even imagine how to clean it or eat with it if you add a codpiece.
¿Lengua viperina? ¿En serio? No puedo decir que la idea no me llama, porque es muy tentadora, pero lo veo muy poco conveniente, además de que no quiero imaginar siquiera cómo limpiarla o comer si le agregas una bragueta.

A tattoo would already mean an achievement for me, but I'm someone who likes to change often and probably will ever want to cover them. For these two reasons the idea of tattooed eyes does not seduce me at all. Besides, needles IN your eyes? No, no, no, a thousand times no.

Ya un tatuaje significaría un logro para mí, pero soy alguien que gusta de variar muy seguido y seguramente alguna vez querré cubrirlos. Por esas dos razones la idea de tatuarme los ojos no me seduce en lo más mínimo. Además, ¿agujas EN los ojos? No, no, no, mil veces no.

Finally, if you tell me about taking off my navel, it won't really bother me. It would be simply aesthetic without any special meaning, just for the sake of letting be, although I haven't read about it as I should, so it's something on stand by.
Por último, si me hablan de quitarme el ombligo, no me molestaría realmente. Sería algo simplemente estético sin ningún significado especial, solo por el hecho de hacérmelo, aunque no he leído al respecto como se debe, así que es algo en pausa.

There's also a modification that seems will be fashionable very soon, if it haven't already, which wouldn't surprise me. These are subcutaneous implants that, being near magnets, light for about 10 seconds.
También hay una modificación que parece se pondrá de moda en poco tiempo, si es que no lo hizo ya, cosa que no me sorprendería. Se trata de unos implantes subcutáneos que, al estar cerca de imanes, se encienden por unos 10 segundos.

If they weren't so big and anti-aesthetic in sight, I wouldn't hesitate to have mine! But if we consider that it's a relatively new project, we'll have to wait a while. Si no fueran tan grandes y anti-estéticos a la vista, ¡no dudaría en hacérmelos! Pero si tenemos en cuenta que es un proyecto relativamente nuevo, habrá que esperar un tiempo.
