Este año quiero enfocarme mucho más en mis libros y mis ideas en vez de las reseñas. Las voy a seguir haciendo, pero voy a darle prioridad a mi proceso de escritura, mis pensamientos, y el progreso que vaya logrando.
Por ahora estoy enfocándome en Medicus, una historia auto-conclusiva que estoy subiendo a Wattpad. Actualmente van 15 capítulos, estoy escribiendo el siguiente, y la línea de tiempo está casi lista. Es un proyecto que quiero llevar tanto en inglés como en español, así que ha sido todo un reto.
¿Por qué ambos idiomas? Porque ya no leo casi ningún libro en español desde que estoy aquí, quiero mantenerme inmerso y activo en el idioma, pero sin dejar de lado a los lectores latinos. Una de las cosas que más me frustraban estando en Venezuela fue que muchos libros que quería leer estaban solo en inglés, y no quiero hacer lo mismo.
Esta fue una idea que tuve durante el Open Novella Contest del año pasado en la plataforma naranja y que no pude seguir, pero que me gustó mucho. Lo mismo sucedió con Rojo Carmín y Lluvia de Plata, que conforman Los Colores de la Muerte. Nunca me he aventurado a escribir a algo con zombis, y admito que nunca he sido un gran fan del género en cualquier medio, pero la idea me encantó.
Algo que se me ha hecho interesante es desarrollar las subtramas. Eso siempre es lo que más me cuesta, porque quiero enfocarme en la principal, en los protagonistas, y pierdo el foco muchas veces. Sin embargo, es como entrenar: se vuelve más fácil con el tiempo.
Lo que sí disfruto bastante son las escenas emocionales. La carga sentimental, el perfil psicológico de los personajes y sus relaciones entre ellos me dan ánimos de seguir allí con ellos, de conocerlos más, hasta que llega un punto en que realmente son ellos quienes escriben a través de mis manos.
Estoy muy emocionado con esta novela, y no veo la hora de poder dedicarle más tiempo porque tanto Éric como Héctor son personajes que me llenan como escritor. Hay partes de mí en ellos, como es de esperarse, pero cada uno tiene su propia personalidad, y estoy ansioso por seguir a su lado. Por ahora, probaré actualizar tres veces a la semana: lunes, miércoles, y viernes.

This year I want to focus a lot more on my books and ideas instead of reviews. I'm going to keep doing them, but I'm going to prioritize my writing process, my thoughts, and the progress I'm making.
For now I'm focusing on Medicus, a standalone story that I'm uploading to Wattpad. It's currently 15 chapters in Spanish, eight of them translated into English, I'm writing the next one, and the timeline is almost done. It's a project that I want to carry out in both English and Spanish, so it has been quite a challenge.
Why both languages? Because I hardly read any books in Spanish since I've been here, I want to stay immersed and active in the language, but without neglecting Latin readers. One of the things that frustrated me the most while in Venezuela was that many books that I wanted to read were only in English, and I don't want to do the same.
This was an idea I had during the Open Novella Contest last year on the orange platform and I couldn't keep working on it, but I really liked it. The same happened with Carmine Red and Silver Rain, which make up Los Colores de la Muerte (only in Spanish for now.) I've never ventured into writing something with zombies, and I'll admit I've never been a huge fan of the genre in any medium, but I loved the idea.
Something that has become interesting to me is developing the subplots. That's always what's most difficult for me, because I want to focus on the main one, on the protagonists, and I lose focus many times. It's like training though: it gets easier over time.
What I do enjoy quite a bit are the emotional scenes. The sentimental charge, the psychological profile of the characters and their relationships with each other encourage me to continue there with them, to get to know them better, until it reaches a point where they really are the ones who write through my hands.
I'm very excited about this novel, and I can't wait to dedicate more time to it because both Éric and Héctor are characters that fulfill me as a writer. There are parts of me in them, as you would expect, but each one has its own personality, and I look forward to staying with them. For now, I'll try updating three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
