Volví a salir de mi zona de comodidad con este título. Hace mucho tiempo que no leo erótica, un género con el que he tenido una relación complicada, pero We Can't Do Just Plain Love Vol. 1, por Mafuyu Fukita, fue mejor de lo que esperaba, además de que tiene varias sorpresas guardadas para el lector. ¡Gracias a la editorial por enviarme una copia a cambio de una reseña honesta!

La devota oficinista Sakura Yuino ha sido transferida para trabajar bajo un nuevo supervisor: el apuesto y caballeroso Tatsuki Kiritani. Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que leí literatura erótica. No sabía qué esperar de este manga, y admito que hasta tenía mis dudas al respecto. Sin embargo, fue una buena lectura que encontré fácil de disfrutar y entrar. Me gustó mucho el arte que era explícito sin ser vulgar o desagradable, apoyando el guión cada vez que cambiaba el tono de la historia.

Me gustó que hubiera elementos de comedia y también una dosis de realidad. No ves personajes masculinos vulnerables con tanta frecuencia. Me gustó que las inseguridades de Kiritani se desarrollaran de la forma en que lo hicieron, aunque creo que impactó el desarrollo y esa primera interacción con Yuino. No fue el mejor comienzo, pero mejoró a medida que avanzaba la historia.

Si bien hay margen de mejora, me gustó mucho lo relajado que era, junto con el arte, tan limpio y bien hecho. Era una mezcla de erotismo, comedia y el comienzo de un romance al final. Creo que hay potencial para un volumen más dramático después de este, más desarrollo y, obviamente, más comedia, porque es uno de los aspectos más fuertes de este manga.

Creo que me falta un poco de encanto porque no estoy tan familiarizado con el género como me gustaría, y es curioso que esto sea parte de la colección Love X Love de Tokyopop, el primer título consecutivo hasta donde yo sé. he visto, pero podría disfrutarlo a pesar de todo. Tendremos que esperar un poco para el próximo volumen, que se publicará en septiembre, pero We Can't Do Just Plain Love Vol. 1 definitivamente vale la pena la espera!

I got out of my comfort zone again with this title. I haven't read erotica in a long time, a genre with which I've had a complicated relationship, but We Can't Do Just Plain Love Vol. 1, by Mafuyu Fukita, was better than I expected, plus it has several surprises in store for the reader. It's been a long time since I read erotica. I didn't know what to expect from this manga, and I admit I even had my doubts about it. However, it was a nice reading that I found easy to enjoy and get into. I really liked the art that was explicit without being vulgar or distasteful, supporting the script whenever it changed the tone of the story.

I did like that there were comedy elements and also a dose of reality. You don't see vulnerable male characters that often. I liked that Kiritani's insecurities played out the way they did, although I think it impacted the development and that first interaction with Yuino. It wasn't the best beginning, but it got better as the story progressed.

While there's room for improvement, I liked a lot how relaxed it was, along with the art, so clean and well-done. It was a mix of erotica, comedy, and the beginning of a romance at the end.  I think there's potential for a more dramatic volume after this one, more development, and obviously more comedy, because it's one of the strongest aspects about this manga.

I think I'm missing a bit of the charm because I'm not as familiar with the genre as I'd like, and it's curious that this is part of Tokyopop's Love X Love collection, the first straight title as far as I've seen, but I could enjoy it regardless. We will have to wait a bit for the next volume, coming up in September, but We Can't Do Just Plain Love Vol. 1 is definitely worth the wait!
