Buen día, Nocturnos. ^^ Espero que estén listos para el fin de semana y de ganas para escuchar kpop del bueno. Vengo con un grupo al que estoy adicto desde hace meses. Todo empezó en enero con dos canciones, en febrero se apoderaron de mi historial de Youtube, pocos días después reseñé su álbum debut (el cual sigo escuchando, ahem), y desde hace días esperaba ansioso su próximo disco. Hoy vengo con mi opinión sobre Binary Code, de OneUs.

Lo que más me gusta de este grupo es que los seis integrantes están muy bien equilibrados, cada uno con su tiempo de protagonismo al momento de cantar, salvo por Xion, que tiene la menor participación en comparación en los cinco temas que componen el disco, cosa que no entiendo porque tiene muy buena voz. Con este aspecto dejado de lado, Binary Code es un disco muy balanceado.

Empezando con el sencillo principal y hasta ahora el único, BLACK MIRROR, OneUs mantiene su estilo bailable y divertido, pero esta vez con una vibra más retro. El con influencias de Michael Jackson refuerza la idea, con una imagen limpia a la vez que suave. Además, con ver su regreso, justamente con esta canción, es obvio el nivel de trabajo que ponen en todo lo que hacen, aunque todavía estoy esperando escuchar presentación con poco o nada de lipsync. Esta fue buena, pero sé que pueden hacerlo mejor.

Las dos siguientes canciones, Connect with US y Polarity, son mucho más suaves y tranquilas en comparación, manteniendo los ritmos pegadizos que los caracterizan y atmósfera animada. La primera es la más relajada, mientras que la segunda recupera esa vibra retro de los 80s-90s. Me encantó ver al grupo explorar nuevas ideas y probar suerte con un estilo diferente, pero manteniendo su escencia.

Diría el que tema más débil es el cuarto, Happy Birthday, con un estilo electrónico minimalista y más orientado al rap. Evidente, Leedo y RAVN están en su elemento como raperos, pero no me impresionó vocalmente hablando, mucho menos estar antes de la versión rock de Valkyrie, el primer sencillo que lanzó OneUs. Las voces de la versión originales contrastan muy bien con el nuevo instrumental, poderoso, lleno de energía, y todavía bailable. ¡Lo he escuchado sin parar y no me aburro!

Diría que Seoho fue la estrella esta vez, aunque RAVN y Leedo estaban muy cerca. Keonhee y Hwanwoong lo hicieron genial con un estilo limpio, y Xion, como dije antes, merecía más protagonismo. Binary Code permitió a OneU explorar su lado más retro, glamoroso y experimental. Es un disco divertido y alegre que te hace sonreír cada vez que lo escuchas.

Good morning, Nightlies. ^^ I hope you are ready for the weekend and looking forward to hearing good kpop. I come with a group that I have been addicted to for months. It all started in January with two songs, in February they took over my YouTube history, a few days later I reviewed their debut album (which I keep listening to, ahem), and for days I have been looking forward to their next album. Today I come with my opinion on Binary Code, from OneUs.

What I like the most about this group is that the six members are very well balanced, each one with their leading time when singing, except for Xion, who has the least participation in comparison in the five songs that make up the disk, which I don't understand because he has a very good voice. With this aspect aside, Binary Code is a very balanced record.

Starting with the lead and so far only single, BLACK MIRROR, OneUs maintains its fun and danceable style, but this time with a more retro vibe. The Michael Jackson-influenced video reinforces the idea, with a clean yet soft image. Also, watching their comeback, precisely with this song, it is obvious the level of work they put into everything they do, although I'm still waiting to hear little to or no lipsync presentation. This one was good, but I know they can do it better.

The next two songs, Connect with US and Polarity, are much softer and quieter in comparison, keeping their signature catchy rhythms and lively atmosphere. The first is the most relaxed, while the second brings back that retro vibe from the 80s-90s. I loved seeing the group explore new ideas and try their luck with a different style, but keeping its essence.

I would say the weakest track is the fourth, Happy Birthday, with a minimalist electronic style and more oriented to rap. Obviously, Leedo and RAVN are in their element as rappers, but I wasn't impressed vocally speaking, much less coming before the Valkyrie rock version, the first single OneUs released. The voices of the original version contrast very well with the new instrumental, powerful, full of energy, and still danceable. I've listened to it non-stop and I'm not bored!

I would say Seoho was the star this time, although RAVN and Leedo were very close. Keonhee and Hwanwoong did great with a clean style, and Xion, as I said before, deserved more protagonism. Binary Code allowed OneUs to explore their most retro, glamorous and experimental side. It's a funny, upbeat record that makes you smile every time you listen to it.
