Buen día, nocturnos. Espero que su semana empezara bien. ^^ Hoy les quiero seguir hablando sobre mi adicción actual, un manga de romance juvenil y con personajes LGBT que me tiene al borde del colapso. Dudo que se sorprendan, pero se trata de Ao no Flag Vol. 3, por Kaito.

Un cuarteto de amor inesperado con una pizca de amor no correspondido cuando dos compañeros de clase, un chico y una chica, comienzan a enamorarse cuando cada uno de sus mejores amigos ya se ha enamorado de ellos.
Es el último año de la escuela secundaria y el amor está en el aire. Los sentimientos románticos que se han ido acumulando durante años de amistad salen a la luz. Cuando la compañera de clase de Taichi, Futaba, le pide que la ayude a confesarse con su mejor amigo, Toma, se enciende el catalizador que comienza el dulce y desgarrador viaje de su tercer y último año de secundaria.
Toma se lesiona gravemente al lanzarse frente a un automóvil para salvar a Taichi, dejando a Taichi atormentado por la culpa no solo de lastimar a su mejor amigo, sino también de robar su última oportunidad de llegar al torneo de béisbol de verano. Culpables y enojados, los dos chicos chocan en una discusión emocionalmente cruda. Futaba, preocupada por los dos, invita a Taichi a salir en un intento de animarlo.

Hubo más de una escena en la que quería que las cosas llegaran a otro nivel, pero sentí que Kaito disfrutó la tortura. Lo irónico es que me hizo disfrutarla también, porque me encantó la manera en que todo se fue dando de manera tan natural y orgánica. Es el volumen más realista hasta ahora, y evidentemente el que más me ha gustado.

La relación entre Toma y Taichi pasa por momentos muy, MUY difíciles, y es obligatorio simpatizar con nuestro protagonista. Sus sentimientos más personales salen a flote y es fácil identificarse con su forma de pensar, con sus inseguridades, con su forma de ver el mundo (Toma, ¡te estás tardando, c*rajo!)

El elenco de personajes crece más de lo que me esperaba, así que me perdí un poco, solo un poco, por la sorpresa, pero Kaito lo manejó todo muy bien, así que tampoco fue problema. El dibujo, no me cansaré de decirlo, es hermoso, y estos personajes nuevos no se quedaron de lado, mucho menos los que ya conocemos.

Tuve que contener la emoción más de una vez a medida que leía, porque hubo escenas en que las confesiones parecían a punto de salir a flote. Quería eso más que nada que fuera así, pero no era el momento, sin importar lo que quiera el lector. Kaito lo entendió, así que las dinámica entre Taichi, Futaba, Toma e Itachi se solidificaron más en Ao no Flag Vol. 3

An unexpected love quadrangle with a dash of unrequited love as two classmates, a boy and a girl, begin to fall for each other when each of their best friends have already fallen for them.
It’s the last year of high school, and love is in the air. Romantic feelings that have been building up over years of friendship come to light. When Taichi’s classmate Futaba asks him to help her confess to his best friend, Toma, it sparks the catalyst that begins the sweet and heart-wrenching journey of their third and final year of high school.
Toma gets seriously injured diving in front of a car to save Taichi, leaving Taichi racked with guilt over not just getting his best friend hurt, but also stealing his last chance at making the summer baseball tournament. Guilty and angry, the two boys clash in an emotionally raw argument. Futaba, worried about both of them, invites Taichi out in an attempt to cheer him up.

There was more than one scene where I wanted things to get to another level, but I felt like Kaito enjoyed the torture. The irony is that he made me enjoy it too, because I loved the way it all happened so naturally and organically. It's the most realistic volume so far, and obviously the one that I liked the most.

The relationship between Toma and Taichi goes through very, VERY difficult times, and it's mandatory to sympathize with our protagonist. His most personal feelings come to the fore and it's easy to identify with huis way of thinking, with his insecurities, with his way of seeing the world (Toma, you're f*cking late!)

The cast of characters grows more than I expected, so I got lost a little, just a little, by surprise, but Kaito handled everything very well, so it was not a problem either. The drawing, I won't tire of saying it, is beautiful, and these new characters were not left out, much less the ones we already know.

I had to contain the emotion more than once as I read, because there were scenes in which the confessions seemed about to come out. I wanted that more than anything, but it was not the time, no matter what the reader wants. Kaito got it, so the dynamics between Taichi, Futaba, Toma, and Itachi were further solidified in Blue Flag Vol. 3
