Comic: Stripped Pajamas

¡Buen día, Nocturnos! ¿Qué tal va ese descanso?

Hace poco leí un cómic que me dejó… es difícil de explicar. Stripped Pajamas, de Firat Yasa, es de esas historias que no puedes definir del todo, a pesar de que te terminan gustando, por lo inusuales que son. Pero vamos a intentarlo.

Nuestro protagonista sin nombre sufre de amnesia y no recuerda absolutamente nada, ni su nombre, por lo que se hace llamar Stripped Pajamas, Pijamas Rayado. Cuando despierta, se encuentra en un mundo donde todos lo persiguen, más que todo animales humanizados, además de sufrir alucinaciones y pesadillas que podrían revelarle más de lo que cree.

Firat Yasa apuesta por una historia lineal pero que no nos muestra toda la información a primera vista, sino que nos va revelando retazos, pequeñas parte de lo que está sucediendo realmente para entender el todo. Aunque es una idea arriesgada, funciona muy bien.

El ritmo es algo errático cuando empiezas, todo es muy confuso, y aunque vas entendiendo qué está pasando, aún te quedan las dudas de si estás en lo correcto. Stripped Pajamas es un cómic que juega con tu percepción sin ninguna vergüenza, pero lo divertido de esto es que te das cuenta al final y entiendes todo.

Puede que por su desarrollo poco estructurado y el arte de estilo infantil sea poco atractivo para muchos. Tuve mis dudas cuando vi páginas tan coloridas, pero Stripped Pajamas es una historia más oscura de lo que parece, créanme.

I recently read a comic that left me ... it's hard to explain. Stripped Pajamas, by Firat Yasa, is one of those stories that you can't completely define, even though you end up liking them, for how unusual they are. But let's try.

Our unnamed protagonist suffers from amnesia and doesn’t remember anything, nor his name, so he calls himself Stripped Pajamas. When he wakes up, he finds himself in a world where everyone is chasing him, humanized animals mostly, besides suffering hallucinations and nightmares that could reveal more than he thinks.

Firat Yasa bets on a linear story but that doesn’t show us all the information at first sight, but rather reveals bits and pieces of what is really happening to understand the whole. Although a risky idea, it works very well.

The rhythm is somewhat erratic when you start, everything is very confusing, and although you understand a bit of what’s happening, you still have doubts about whether you are correct. Stripped Pajamas is a comic that plays with your perception without any shame, but the fun thing about this is that you realize it in the end and understand everything.

It may be that due to its unstructured development and the art of children's style it is unattractive for many. I had my doubts when I saw such colorful pages, but Stripped Pajamas is a darker story than it seems, believe me.
