Cómic: Wynd - The Throne in the Sky #4

Luego de leer el anterior, tuve que leer el siguiente, y el que le seguía. Me acosté tarde pero no me arrepiento de nada. Hoy les quiero contar sobre Wynd: The Throne in the Sky #4, por James Tynion IV y Michael Dialynas. ¡Gracias a la editorial por enviarme un ejemplar a cambio de una reseña honesta!

Windshorn Peak es el único refugio de las Hadas, pero incluso con aliados para guiarlas, su falta de hospitalidad resulta ser una amenaza mortal para los niños. Pero no más peligrosos que los vampiros y el hada general Eks marchando a la guerra, a medida que se acerca la batalla final en la montaña...

Por alguna razón, este número no me convenció tanto como el anterior. Había algo que me hizo sentir que la lectura era más lenta que antes, aunque seguía disfrutando de la historia. El mundo ya es atrapante a este punto, pero el efecto se acentíua aún más cuando lees sobre el mito originario desde otro punto de vista.

El tema del guión mejora luego de algunas páginas, y tengo que decir que el cambio en el estilo artístico para ese segmento me encantó. Es un contraste muy llamativo que te mantiene atento de inicio a fin, sin descuidar la calidad o el estilo. Aunque es diferente, aún hay cierto parecido con la estética que este equipo ha usado a lo largo de los cómics.

Diría que el ritmo errático fue lo que más me molestó en esta ocasión. Había algo en el desarrollo de la trama que no me dejó sumergirme de lleno como me ha pasado con toda la saga. No es un número pesado, la historia es interesante, el arte sigue siendo precioso, pero hay algo que no funcionó para mí. Es frustrante no saber explicarlo.

Sin embargo, Wynd: The Throne in the Sky #4 sigue siendo una historia que me encanta. Sienta las bases para un final que se adivinaba inesperado (jeje, luego les cuento más), pero que brilla por cuenta propia. Como capítulo en toda la saga, ofrece más información, una mirada más completa a la mitología del mundo en el que se desarrolla todo y, como ya es usual, te deja con ganas de más.

Windshorn Peak is the only refuge from the Faeries, but even with allies to guide them, its inhospitality proves a deadly threat to the kids. But not more dangerous than Vampyres and the Faerie General Eks marching to war, as the final battle on the mountain draws near...

For some reason, this issue didn't convince me as much as the previous one. There was something that made me feel that the reading was slower than before, although I still enjoyed the story. The world is already captivating at this point, but the effect is further accentuated when you read about the original myth from another point of view.

The thing with the script improves after a few pages, and I have to say that I loved the change in art style for that segment. It's a very striking contrast that keeps you attentive from start to finish, without neglecting quality or style. Although it's different, there's still some resemblance to the aesthetic that this team has used throughout the comics.

I would say the erratic pacing was what bothered me the most this time around. There was something in the development of the plot that didn't let me fully immerse myself as it has happened with the entire saga. It's not a heavy issue, the story is interesting, the art is still beautiful, but there's something that didn't work for me. It's frustrating not knowing how to explain it.

However, Wynd: The Throne in the Sky #4 is still a story that I love. It lays the foundations for an ending that was guessed unexpected (hehe, I'll tell you more later), but that shines on its own. As a chapter in the entire saga, it offers more information, a more complete look at the mythology of the world in which it all takes place and, as usual, leaves you wanting more.
