Hoy vengo con el último número de esta saga que me enamoró. Desde el primer volumen he querido saber qué va a pasar con Wynd y su grupo, y aunque este no es el capítulo final, sí se acerca bastante: Wynd: The Throne in the Sky #5, por James Tynion IV y Michael Dialynas. ¡Gracias a la editorial por enviarme un ejemplar a cambio de una reseña honesta!

¡La batalla final está aquí cuando el ejército de hadas se acerca!

Aparentemente, los chicos no tienen a dónde escapar, con Wynd en una situación desesperada mientras se encarga de luchar contra el General de las Hadas. ¿Qué se necesita para salvar a los chicos y, lo que es más importante, qué papel juega la sangre de Wynd en todo esto?

No estoy seguro de que pueda decir nada nuevo a este punto. Cualquiera que me lea sabe que me encanta el guión, que amo el arte, que el diseño de los personajes es precioso, y disfruto siempre de principio a fin. Esas han sido mis impresiones desde el inicio, y aunque hay veces en que es más o menos que antes, ha sido una experiencia muy entretenida.

¿Qué hace de este número único? Que la trama no está idealizada, sino que es más realista. Hubiese sido muy fácil darlo todo por terminado y dejar a los personajes con un felices por siempre, pero no fue el que caso. El equipo se mantuvo firme en no crear un final apresurado, azucarado, y de mal gusto, algo que para mí está excelente.

Sí es cierto que me entretuvo y tuvo algunas sorpresas, pero esperaba algo más impactante, más fuerte, al final. No muerte, pero sí algo más impactante. Aunque no estoy decepcionado, sí me dejó inconforme a comparación de los demás, sin mencionar que no es del todo memorable. Esperaba más, para ser honesto.

Empecé este último número con miedo porque no quería esperarme nada, y por un buen tiempo fue así: no sabía que iba a pasar, hasta que las cosas dieron un giro inesperado y me dejaron sin palabras. Llegar al final siempre es agridulce, pero la promesa de más es lo que me importa. Leer esta saga ha sido una aventura, y algo me dice que el siguiente volumen será el final, pero sé que lo esperaré con ansias.

The final battle is here as the Faerie army closes in!

The kids seemingly have nowhere to escape, with Wynd in dire straits as he takes it upon himself to battle the Faerie General. What will it take to save the children, and more importantly, what role does Wynd's blood play in all of this?

I'm not sure I can say anything new at this point. Anyone who reads me knows that I love the script, that I love the art, that the character design is beautiful, and that I always enjoy it from start to finish. Those have been my impressions from the beginning, and although there are times when it's more or less than before, it has been a very entertaining experience.

What makes this issue unique? That the plot is not idealized, but is more realistic. It would have been very easy to call it quits and leave the characters happily ever after, but that wasn't the case. The team was adamant not to create a rushed, sugary, and tacky ending, which is excellent for me.

It's true that it entertained me and had some surprises, but I expected something more impressive, stronger, at the end. Not death, but something more shocking. Although I'm not disappointed, it did leave me unsatisfied compared to the others, not to mention it's not entirely memorable. I expected more, to be honest.

I started this last issue with fear because I didn't want to wait for anything, and for a long time it was like that: I didn't know what was going to happen, until things took an unexpected turn and left me speechless. Getting to the end is always bittersweet, but the promise of more is what matters to me. Reading this saga has been an adventure, and something tells me the next volume will be the last, but I know I'll be looking forward to it.
