La primicia me enamoró en el acto, y cuando leí las primera páginas supe que necesitaba leerlo. Es una historia llena de drama familiar, secretos, traumas, y una buena dosis de fantasía que se integra de manera natural a toda la trama. El guión cuenta con todos los ingredientes correctos para hacer una historia que te encanta.

Pasó algo muy similar con el arte. Me acostumbré al estilo en poco tiempo, tan caricaturesco a veces pero con una dosis cruda de realidad y violencia que combina a la perfección con el guión, creando un contraste muy interesante. La elección de colores también hizo fácil saber que estaba leyendo una escena diferente con personajes diferentes.

Sí admito que me perdí un poco al inicio porque hay un elenco grande, y varios personajes aparecen de golpe, así que me sentí saturado en un punto. Siento que podría haber sido un poco más sencillo o con cortes más suaves entre un lado de la historia y otro, porque hay muchas cosas pasando a la vez y, aunque atrapante, la lectura se pone un poco pesada.

Es una lectura muy ligera en general con varias sorpresas en el camino, un arte que encanta desde el inicio, y un ritmo que sube y baja dependiendo de lo que necesite. Graveyard Wars Vol. 1 me mantuvo despierto hasta altas horas de la noche, ansioso por saber qué iba a pasar, y solo puedo esperar a leer el siguiente volumen. Prometedor es decir poco.

All his life Ethan Noble felt he was different; unstable, crazy. How else to explain his ability to master so many different skills only to have them vanish time after time. All her life Carter Noble has tried in vain to help her brother. Raise him, shield him, understand him. An impossible task, even for a twin, because no matter how hard Ethan tried to explain his behavior Carter was never able to understand and any attempt to enlist help from Sebastian, their father, was met with an icy stare and stony silence.

What all three Nobles will soon learn is that in a world where the secrets someone takes to their grave are no longer safe you need family more than ever. The problem? When Ethan and Carter uncover a web of lies that led to their mother's death they're lead straight to their father.

I fell in love with the scoop on the spot, and when I read the first few pages I knew I needed to read it. It's a story full of family drama, secrets, traumas, and a good dose of fantasy that's naturally integrated into the entire plot. The script has all the right ingredients to make a story that you love.

Something very similar happened with the art. I got used to the style in a short time, so cartoonish at times but with a raw dose of reality and violence that blends perfectly with the script, creating a very interesting contrast. The choice of colors also made it easy to tell that I was reading a different scene with different characters.

I do admit that I got a little lost at the beginning because there is a large cast, and several characters appear at once, so I felt overwhelmed at one point. I feel like it could have been a bit simpler or with smoother cuts between one side of the story and the other, because there's a lot going on at once and, while engaging, the reading gets a bit heavy.

It's a very light reading overall with several surprises along the way, art that enchants you from the start, and a pacing that goes up and down depending on what you need. Graveyard Wars Vol. 1 kept me up late at night, anxious to find out what was going to happen, and I can only wait to read the next volume. Promising is to say little.
