2021: En Retrospectiva / In Retrospective

Henos aquí, en la última entrada de este año. Voy a tomarme varios días de descanso del blog para poder recuperar energías porque 2021 me drenó casi por completo. No pude hacer todo lo que quería hacer, pero sí hice una buena parte, y algunas cosas más, y quería recapitular un poco. Según los planes originales:

¡Lluvia de Plata salió en físico! No con el mismo nombre, sino a la par de Rojo Carmín como Los Colores de la Muerte. Aún me falta la edición en inglés, así que esa va para el año que viene, pero haber terminado la historia de David junto con la de Opal me dejó tan feliz que no me importa. Es un libro súper especial para mí por sus temas, por los giros, los personajes, y porque me reté a escribir algo diferente.

Tanto Los Hijos de Artemisa como Ledén se me quedaron en el tintero, pero por muy buenas razones: ¡REFLEJOS VIENE EN FÍSICO! Sigo con todo un cúmulo de emociones y estoy tan ansioso de que lean la edición con Mangata que sonrío como idiota cada vez que pienso en ello. Sin embargo, esto significa que ya no puedo postergarlo más. Los Hijos de Artemisa tienen que ver la luz de una vez por todas, y no incluyo Ledén por razones de peso. ^^

Mantener Ars Viatoris fue un sonoro fracaso. Me divertí escribiendo todas esas historias, pero quisiera haber podido haberlo hecho mejor. Me sirvió para crecer, para probar cosas nuevas, y amé cada idea. Solo hace falta más organización, que es mi talón de Aquiles (no me digas, Sherlock).

¡Cuentos de Hadas para no Dormir sí salió en inglés! Desde el 9 de noviembre, Nightmare Fairytales está disponible en tapa blanda y tapa dura. Fue toda una aventura volver a este libro, descubrirlo una vez más, y un reto hacer que mantuviera el estilo en otro idioma. Es una historia extraña, cargada de temas e ideas que me alegra haber escrito, y más aún que esté disponible en inglés. Estoy demasiado orgulloso del resultado, por si no es obvio, jeje.

Sin embargo, Alterno Nerva es tema aparte. Es demasiado extensa, compleja, y la sola idea de traducirla al inglés me causó fatiga. Estoy seguro de que no lo haré para el año que viene, pero sí más adelante. Lo mismo sucede con Los Raros de Newrocks, porque ahora quiero reescribir el primer libro y reflejar mejor lo que quiero expresar con esa historia. Lo que sí queda para el 2022 es la entrevista con Sylvia Lobos, así como hice con Edgar Torres, y quizá leer 100 libros, aunque esto ya no me quita el sueño.

Entonces, la lista para 2022 quedaría algo así:

• Publicar Los Hijos de Artemisa.
• Corregir Ledén.
• Mantener Ars Viatoris.
• Traducir Los Colores de la Muerte.
• Re-comenzar Los Raros de Newrocks.
• Entrevistar a Sylvia Lobos.
• ¿Leer 100 libros?

Además de esto, también tengo algo diferente en mente, las metas originales para el 2022, pero voy a guardar silencio por tanto tiempo como pueda. Jeje. 2021 fue un año difícil, complicado, lleno de retos y muchas primeras veces a nivel personal, familiar, y en cuanto a relaciones (solo amigos, Cupido sigue ignorándome, igual que viene haciendo desde hace años). Así que en parte estoy bien con ello, pero también quiero tomar todo lo que ha pasado para seguir mejorando.

Muchas gracias a todos los que han sido tan amables conmigo este año, que han estado a mi lado, y me han ayudado durante todo el año. He tenido tantos altibajos radicales que no olvidaré algunos de ellos durante mucho tiempo, y estoy seguro de que 2022 será mejor, porque sé que no habrá calma.

Here we are, in the last post of this year. I'm going to take several days off from the blog to recharge my batteries because 2021 almost completely drained me. I couldn't do everything I wanted to do, but I did do a good part, and a few more things, and I wanted to recap a bit. According to the original plans:

Silver Rain came out in print! Not with the same name, but alongside Carmine Red as Los Colores de la Muerte (The Colors of Death). I'm still missing the English edition, so that one goes for next year, but finishing David's story along with Opal's left me so happy that I don't care. It's a super special book for me because of its themes, its twists, its characters, and because I challenged myself to write something different.

Both Los Hijos de Artemisa (The Children of Artemis) and Ledén were left in the inkwell, but for very good reasons: REFLEJOS IS COMING IN PRINT! I still have a whole host of emotions and am so eager for you to read the edition with Mangata that I grin like an idiot every time I think about it. However, this means that I can't put it off any longer. The Children of Artemis have to see the light once and for all, and I don't include Ledén for compelling reasons. ^^

Maintaining Ars Viatoris was a resounding failure. I had fun writing all those stories, but I wish I could have done better. It helped me to grow, to try new things, and I loved every idea. It just takes more organization, which is my Achilles heel (no shit, Sherlock).

Cuentos de Hadas para no Dormir did come out in English! Since November 9, Nightmare Fairytales is available in paperback and hardcover. It was quite an adventure to go back to this book, discover it one more time, and a challenge to make it keep the style in another language. It's a strange story, loaded with themes and ideas that I'm glad I wrote, and even more so that it's available in English. I'm too proud of the result, in case it's not obvious, hehe.

However, Alterno Nerva is a separate issue. It's too long, too complex, and the very idea of ​​translating it into English caused me fatigue. I'm sure I won't do it for next year, but I will do it later. The same thing happens with Weirdos of Newrocks, because now I want to rewrite the first book and better reflect what I want to express with that story. What is left for 2022 is the interview with Sylvia Lobos, as I did with Edgar Torres, and perhaps read 100 books, although this no longer makes me lose sleep.

So, the list for 2022 would look something like this:

Besides this, I also have something different in mind, the original goals for 2022, but I'm going to stay silent for as long as I can. Hehe. 2021 was a difficult, complicated year, full of challenges and many first times on a personal, family level, and in terms of relationships (just friends, Cupid continues to ignore me, just as he has been doing for years). So I'm partly fine with it, but I also want to take everything that has happened to keep improving.
