¡Buen día, Nocturnos! Espero que estén bien. Estoy súper atrasado con esta reseña de Doom Patrol, pero ya publiqué también la reseña del capítulo de esta semana, y así quedamos al día. Jeje. Espero que esto no pase de nuevo.
En el tercer episodio, Puppet Patrol, Cyborg convence a los demás de ir a Paraguay e investigar qué pasó allí en 1948, esperando descubrir algo que sea de utilidad para rescatar al jefe. Llegan a un lugar llamado Fuchtopia, donde humanos corrientes pueden volverse metahumanos gracias a los experimentos de Von Fuchs, quién sigue vivo y es el responsable de crear a Don Nadie. Allí, la Doom Patrol lo encaran a él y si séquito de seguidores para que les dé respuestas, pero con resultados un tanto… violentos, por decir lo menos.
Tengo que decir que este episodio me gustó mucho más que los dos anteriores. Conocimos más del pasado de Larry, sus relaciones tanto sentimentales como con el ente que vive en él, y hay un desarrollo en él y sus compañeros. Sin dudas fue la estrella, aunque Jane, sus personalidades y Cyborg destacaron bastante.
Puppet Patrol es un episodio que juega con la mente de los héroes, nos muestra las cicatrices que muchos llevan, y aun así mantiene el humor negro que la caracteriza. Está de más decir que el guión me encantó, al igual que la producción. Hubo un desarrollo muy bueno, con ideas bien explicadas y un final que te hace querer ver más.
Sigue siendo muy temprano para hacer suposiciones, pero me intriga saber qué va a pasar más adelante. Doom Patrol es definitivamente una serie que quiero seguir viendo y reseñando, y si siguen la serie o ya la vieron (cero spoilers, por favor), dejen sus comentarios más abajo.
Good morning, Nighters! I hope you’re well. I’m super late with this Doom Patrol review, but I already published the review on this week's episode as well, and so we will be up to date. Hehe. I hope this doesn’t happen again.
In the third episode, Puppet Patrol, Cyborg convinces the others to go to Paraguay and see what happened there in 1948, hoping to discover something useful to rescue the Chief. They arrive to a place named Fuchtopia, were common humans can become metahumans thanks to the experiments of Von Fuchs, who’s still alive and is responsible for creating Mr. Nobody. There, the Doom Patrol faces him and his followers and demand some answers, but with results quite… violent, to say the least.
I have to say I liked this episode more than the previous two. We learned more about Larry’s past, his relationships both romantic and with the being who lives in him, and there’s considerable development in him and his mates. He was the star with no doubt, although Jane, her personalities and Cyborg also had the highlight.
Puppet Patrol is an episode that plays with the mind of the heroes, that shows us the scars they carry, and still keeps the black humor that characterizes the series. Needless to say that I loved the script, just like the production. There was a very good development, with well-explained ideas and an end that makes you want to see more.
It’s still too early to make any suppositions, but it intrigues me to know what will happen later. Doom Patrol is definitely a series I’ll keep watching and reviewing, and if you are watching it or watched it already (no spoilers, please,) leave your comments below.
