Kudai - Escapar (2020)

Buen día, Nocturnos. Espero que hayan pasado un buen fin de semana. Yo por lo menos cerré con broche de oro el viernes, dando fin a una etapa de mi vida, y ese mismo día se estrenó una nueva versión de Escapar, de Kudai. Abajo pueden ver el video original y el de la nueva versión.

Si ya la versión de 2004 me gustaba, esta me encanta. Más rápida, más energética, mucho más movida y con fuerza, con un rock más pesado y algunos toques de electro, sin mencionar que las voces del cuarteto han madurado muy bien, es una delicia para los oídos. Mención especial a la percusión, por favor

La letra también se adapta muy bien al mundo de hoy, y admito que casi lloré al escucharla. Me sentí adolescente una vez más, volví en el tiempo de tal manera que recordé todas las situaciones que esta canción describe perfectamente, todos esos recuerdos amargos que, aunque enseñan, duelen y mucho. Es un tema que me tocó muy fuerte, más que Sin Despertar.

El video también me encanta. Creativo, sencillo, con colores preciosos llenos de significado, y hasta chistoso. A pesar de que Tomás se lleva e protagonismo musicalmente hablando, Pablo fue la estrella visualmente, haciendo honor a la imagen de Kudai con la que muchos crecimos y llegamos a imitar. Escapar fue la manera perfecta para empezar un día inolvidable, recordando por qué amo todo lo oscuro, por qué soy gótico, y qué significó ser adolescente para mí.

Good morning, Nighters. I hope you had a good weekend. I at least closed with a flourish on Friday, ending a stage in my life, and that same day a new version of Escapar, by Kudai, was released. Above you can see the original video and that of the new version.

If I already liked the 2004 version, I love this one. Faster, more energetic, much more moving and powerful, with a heavier rock and some touches of electro, not to mention that the voices of the quartet have matured very well, it is a delight for the ears. Special mention to percussion, please

The lyrics are also very well suited to today's world, and I admit I almost cried listening to them. I felt like a teenager once again, I went back in time in such a way that I remembered all the situations that this song describes perfectly, all those bitter memories that, although they teach, hurt a lot. It's a subject that touched me very strongly, more than Sin Despertar.

I also love the video. Creative, simple, with beautiful colors full of meaning, and even funny. Despite the fact that Tomás takes the lead musically speaking, Pablo was the star visually, honoring Kudai's image that many of us grew up with and imitated. Escapar was the perfect way to start an unforgettable day, remembering why I love everything dark, why I'm Gothic, and what being a teenager meant to me.
