Trese Vol. 2: Unreported Murders contiene cuatro misterios que Alexandra Trese debe resolver; entre ellos, una criatura enana asesinada, una comisaría sitiada por los muertos vivientes, un escurridizo asesino en serie que vive en las alcantarillas de la ciudad y una modesta comunidad de puertas cerradas que está dispuesta a pagar el precio para vivir la vida privilegiada. ¡Todas las historias cuentan con arte actualizado/remasterizado, y una sección adicional sustancial sobre los monstruos de mitología filipina, contada por sus creadores Budjette Tan y Kajo Baldisimo!

Este volumen me impresionó más que el anterior, y puedo decir que es mucho más oscuro, con historias más fuertes, tocando temas sociales y sensibles que no dejan a nadie indiferente. Los guiones fueron mucho más solidos, con un desarrollo mejor hecho, y algunos finales abiertos que ponen al lector a pensar.

El arte tiene un cambio radical que, si bien impacta al principio por la diferencia tan marcada, es un paso en la dirección correcta. Si bien es cierto que me encantó el estilo inicial, limpio y abstracto, este es más detallado, trabajado, y deja un acabado que combina mejor con el tono de Trese Vol. 2: Unreported Murders. En pocas palabras, me encantó.

Lo único que podría criticar es que algunas de las historias quedaron demasiado abiertas al final para mi gusto. Hubiese preferido un poco más de información sobre lo que iba a pasar con los personajes, los casos, y algo más sobre Trese, de la que hemos sabido más bien poco hasta ahora. Sin embargo, las últimas páginas dan una probada de una historia más extensa es gestación.

Trese Vol. 2: Unreported Murders fue una lectura que me encantó de principio a fin, cada caso más interesante que el anterior. Es muy cómoda de la leer y no toma mucho tiempo, aunque estoy aprendiendo que con esta serie es mejor tomarse su tiempo para no saturarse. No porque sea pesada, sino por cuestiones más personales. Es de esas joyas que saben mejor si se las disfruta con calma.

Trese Vol. 2: Unreported Murders contains four mysteries for Alexandra Trese to solve; including a murdered dwarven-creature, a police station held under siege by the undead, an elusive serial killer living in the sewers of the city, and an unassuming gated-community that’s willing to pay the price to live the privileged life. All the stories feature updated/re-mastered artwork, and a substantial bonus section about the monsters of Philippine myth, as told by its creators Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo!

This volume impressed me more than the previous one, and I can say that it is much darker, with stronger stories, touching on social and sensitive issues that leave no one indifferent. The scripts were much more solid, with a better-done development, and some open endings that make the reader think.

Art has undergone a radical change that, although it makes an impact at first due to the marked difference, is a step in the right direction. Although it is true that I loved the initial style, clean and abstract, this one is more detailed, worked, and leaves a finish that better matches the tone of Trese Vol. 2: Unreported Murders. In a nutshell, I loved it.

The only thing I could criticize is that some of the stories were too open at the end for my liking. I would have preferred a little more information about what was going to happen with the characters, the cases, and something else about Trese, which we have known rather little about until now. However, the last pages give a taste of a more extensive story is gestation.

Trese Vol. 2: Unreported Murders was a delightful read from start to finish, each case more interesting than the last. It's very comfortable to read and doesn't take much time, although I'm learning that with this series it's best to take your time so you don't get overwhelmed. Not because it is heavy, but for more personal reasons. It is one of those jewels that taste better if you enjoy them calmly.
