Buenos días, gente. Espero que todos estén bien. Ayer tuve la sorpresa de que no vería solo uno sino dos episodios de Doom Patrol, ¡y claro que no me molestó! Sigo procesando muchas cosas, pero vamos por partes, y hablaré del último episodio en otra entrada. Por ahora, vamos a quedarnos con el catorceavo episodio.
Penultimate Patrol fue dirigido por Rebecca Rodriguez (debut en la serie) y escrito por Chris Dingess (episodio 4), en donde vemos cómo al fin los protagonistas alcanzan al Sr. Don Nadie, no sin una última tentación por la que pasar y demostrar cómo han crecido y cambiado. Muchas verdades salen a la luz, una concerniente a la madre de Cyborg, el pasado sobre Don Nadie, y una mentira por omisión que Niles ha mantenido por décadas.
El inicio de este episodio fue poderoso, en muchos, muchos sentidos. Drama, humor histérico, aventura y mucho más humor. Me encantó el inicio y la forma en que se fueron desarrollando las escenas. Los diálogos también estuvieron muy bien, sin mencionar la fotografía.
Pensé que este episodio se iría por la borda cuando vi que había otra prueba que debían pasar los personajes, sin mencionar las secuencias de Victor con su padre, pero Dingess supo manejar varias líneas sin problema. Todo se desarrolló muy bien, si me preguntan.
El final también fue épico. Fue un giro de trama que no me esperaba por ningún lado y que enderezó el episodio cuando pensé que Dingess tomó la salida fácil, pero todo lo contrario. Admito que la visión de Rodriguez fue extraña al principio, pero trajo más de una escena memorable. ¿Y ahora? Pues vamos con el quinceavo y último capítulo de esta joyita de serie.
Good morning, Nighters. I hope everybody's fine. Yesterday I had the surprise that I would see not only one but two episodes of Doom Patrol, and of course it didn't bother me! I'm still processing a lot of things, but we're going by parts, and I'll talk about the last episode in another entry. For now, let's stick with the fourteenth episode.
Penultimate Patrol was directed by Rebecca Rodriguez (series debut) and written by Chris Dingess (episode 4), where we see how the protagonists finally reach Mr. Nobody, not without one last temptation to go through and demonstrate how they've grown and changed. Many truths come to light, one concerning Cyborg's mother, the past about Mr. Nobody, and a lie by omission that Niles has maintained for decades.
This episode's beginning was powerful in many, many ways. Drama, hysterical humor, adventure and much more humor. I loved the start and the way the scenes were developed. The dialogues were also very good, not to mention photography.
I thought this episode would go overboard when I saw that there was another test that the characters must pass, not to mention Victor's sequences with his father, but Dingess knew how to handle multiple lines with no problem. Everything went very well, if you ask me.
The ending was also epic. It was a plot twist that I wasn't expecting anywhere and it straightened out the episode when I thought Dingess took the easy way out, but quite the opposite. I admit that Rodriguez's vision was strange at first, but it brought more of a memorable scene. And now? Well, let's go with the fifteenth and last chapter of this gem of a series.
