¡Perdonen si no saludo si no digo nada, pero tengo el hype a millón! Es la 1:34 AM aquí en Maracaibo y hace media hora me enteré de que Kudai sacó una nueva versión de Sin Despertar. ¡Me morí!
Los que me conocen saben que no escucho música en español, pero Kudai siempre fue la excepción, siempre, y nunca he dejado de amar sus canciones sin importar cuánto tiempo pase. Son parte de mi adolescencia, y son iconos latinos para todos los que crecimos en la década del 2000.
Sin Despertar fue el primer sencillo que lanzaron, el 12 de marzo de 2004 según una tal Wikipedia, como parte de su primer Disco, Vuelo, que lanzaron el 10 de julio de ese mismo año. Fue el inicio de un grupo emblemático, un cuarteto que marcaría una década entera para el público latino y que pasaría a la historia por sus letras, su estética, sus videos y el carisma de sus integrantes.
16 años, 3 meses y 2 semanas exactamente después, y en medio de una pandemia que nos tiene encerrados a todos, esta gente vuelven a grabar el tema que inició todo. Y casi me provocan un ataque. La canción se escucha mucho mejor, está más cuidada, se nota más profesional, pero mantiene ese aire soñador, inocente y nostálgico de la primera versión. Es imposible no cantar la letra y sentirse libre una vez más.
Ahora, sobre el video: ¡Sonreí como un idiota todo el tiempo! La vibra que transmite, los colores y el concepto, todo es perfecto, tal y como debía ser para este momento tan especial. Es imposible no ponerse de buen humor al verlo.
No sé qué vendrá después de esto, porque no soy el único de sus fans que les pidió otra versión 2020 (Llévame parece ser la más solicitada, ¡y con razón!), pero por ahora solo pienso disfrutar, una vez y otra más.

It is impossible not to sing the lyrics and feel free once again.
Now about the video: I smiled like an idiot the whole time! The vibes it transmits, the colors and the concept, everything is perfect, just as it should be for this special moment. It's impossible not to put yourself in a good mood when you see it.
